48. Bhagavad Gita I Chapter 4 Verses 14-17 I Swami Sarvapriyananda

Bhagavad Gita - Swami Sarvapriyananda

Swami Sarvapriyananda teaches Verses 14-17, from the fourth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita. This series of talks unfolds the highest truths of Vedanta through the study of "The song of God". 🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 4, Verse 14: न मां कर्माणि लिम्पन्ति न मे कर्मफले स्पृहा | इति मां योऽभिजानाति कर्मभिर्न स बध्यते || 14|| na māṁ karmāṇi limpanti na me karma-phale spṛihā iti māṁ yo ’bhijānāti karmabhir na sa badhyate 🔴Works do not taint me; I desire not their fruits. Whoso knows Me to be such, is not bound by works. 🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 4, Verse 15: एवं ज्ञात्वा कृतं कर्म पूर्वैरपि मुमुक्षुभि: | कुरु कर्मैव तस्मात्त्वं पूर्वै: पूर्वतरं कृतम् || 15|| evaṁ jñātvā kṛitaṁ karma pūrvair api mumukṣhubhiḥ kuru karmaiva tasmāttvaṁ pūrvaiḥ pūrvataraṁ kṛitam 🔴 Knowing thus was done by ancient seekers after liberation. Therefore you too do only work, as was done by the ancients in bygone days. 🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 4, Verse 16: किं कर्म किमकर्मेति कवयोऽप्यत्र मोहिता: | तत्ते कर्म प्रवक्ष्यामि यज्ज्ञात्वा मोक्ष्यसेऽशुभात् || 16|| kiṁ karma kim akarmeti kavayo ’pyatra mohitāḥ tat te karma pravakṣhyāmi yaj jñātvā mokṣhyase ’śhubhāt 🔴What is work? What is non-work? In respect of these questions the sages even are deluded. Therefore, I shall elucidate the nature of work, by knowing which you will be delivered from evil. 🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 4, Verse 17: कर्मणो ह्यपि बोद्धव्यं बोद्धव्यं च विकर्मण: | अकर्मणश्च बोद्धव्यं गहना कर्मणो गति: || 17|| karmaṇo hyapi boddhavyaṁ boddhavyaṁ cha vikarmaṇaḥ akarmaṇaśh cha boddhavyaṁ gahanā karmaṇo gatiḥ 🔴Indeed you ought to know about work; also you ought to know about bad work; and, besides you ought to know about non-work. Profound is the course of work. ► To support the Vedanta Society of New York: http://bit.ly/SupportVedantaNY Vedanta NY Media details: Primary Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/vedantany Web: http://vedantany.org Soundcloud: http://Soundcloud.com/VedantaNY iTunes Podcast: http://bit.ly/vedanta-talks-itunes Google Play: http://bit.ly/vedanta-talks-google-play Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/VedantaNY Instagram: @Vedanta_NY, https://www.instagram.com/vedanta_ny/ ABOUT VEDANTA Vedanta is one of the world’s most ancient religious philosophies and one of its broadest.
