episode is such a special one. 00:02:07.123 --> 00:02:16.212 We are taking a moment to look back, reflect, and celebrate some of the most powerful moving and memorable moments from seasons one through four. 00:02:16.872 --> 00:02:20.562 So it's hard to believe we are almost 30 episodes in you guys. 00:02:20.562 --> 00:02:22.093 It is so wild to me. 00:02:22.093 --> 00:02:27.973 When Jasa and I started this, we knew absolutely nothing zero about podcasting. 00:02:28.182 --> 00:02:32.742 It has been a true labor of love and one that we are so, so proud of. 00:02:33.192 --> 00:02:41.353 Our goal in starting this was always to create a space for conversations, emotional healing, spiritual growth, and deep connection. 00:02:41.622 --> 00:02:44.112 And it's all been possible because of you. 00:02:44.473 --> 00:02:51.643 Whether you've been with us since day one, or just recently joined the Spirit, outspoken community, we are so grateful that you're here. 00:02:52.302 --> 00:03:00.522 In this episode, I'm sharing some of our favorite clips moments that made us feel deeply cry or just say, yes, this is why we're doing this. 00:03:00.883 --> 00:03:07.932 You'll hear wisdom from our guests, moments of vulnerability and reminders that none of us are ever alone on this journey. 00:03:08.263 --> 00:03:17.442 So wherever you are driving, walking, curled up on the couch, I just invite you to take a deep breath and revisit some of these really special moments with me. 00:03:17.713 --> 00:03:21.133 Let's dive into the heart of what Spirit Outspoken is all about. 00:03:21.538 --> 00:03:31.377 Our first clip is from our introductory episode entitled Meet the Host, where Jason and I opened up about the moments that cracked us open and led us to seek something bigger than ourselves. 00:03:31.828 --> 00:03:43.557 In this clip, we share how trauma became the doorway to our healing, our spiritual journeys, and ultimately this podcast, it's raw, it's real, and it's the heart of why Spirit outspoken exists. 00:03:43.557 --> 00:03:49.937 So my backstory I have had a lot of grief woven throughout my life in different ways. 00:03:50.348 --> 00:03:53.228 My father passed away in a car accident when I was 10. 00:03:53.487 --> 00:03:55.387 <v Rachael>Before that, my parents had been divorced. 00:03:55.418 --> 00:03:58.697 <v Rachael>There was some infidelity stuff, so there was grief that went along with that. 00:03:59.048 --> 00:04:05.218 My brother, after my dad's passing, was troubled and lost and eventually, got into drugs and alcohol. 00:04:05.218 --> 00:04:14.778 So watching someone go through addiction and seeing them literally transform into someone you don't even recognize is grief in a different form. 00:04:15.387 --> 00:04:24.050 And then eventually went on and struggled with infertility for a while and that was a long journey of grief and just feeling completely out of control. 00:04:24.050 --> 00:04:36.199 My sister in law Passed away tragically from suicide and then two years later, I lost my brother to a drug overdose and I just say all this to lead me now into COVID. 00:04:36.310 --> 00:04:39.160 And COVID stirred in me. 00:04:39.415 --> 00:04:47.735 A huge trauma response because I'm terrified, obviously, of losing people I love when we saw the news and we didn't know what this thing was. 00:04:48.194 --> 00:04:52.615 And we just heard about all these people dying and it was coming our direction. 00:04:52.834 --> 00:05:00.584 and the stakes this time around with having two children, My anxiety just soared on top of being home with kids 24 seven. 00:05:00.584 --> 00:05:05.024 And on top of just like the regular stress, I had just that I was experiencing some. 00:05:05.040 --> 00:05:08.730 levels of stress that I had never experienced before. 00:05:08.780 --> 00:05:17.360 Panic attacks and, I had vertigo and numbness and tingling in my extremities and heart palpitations and hearing loss in one year. 00:05:17.360 --> 00:05:21.589 Just like these bizarre things, which only then make the anxiety worse. 00:05:22.030 --> 00:05:32.084 But it was, A blessing and that I started looking to God what are some spiritual ways and meditative ways that I can get my cortisol levels down in addition to medication. 00:05:32.125 --> 00:05:37.093 But it was during that time that my spirituality just took on a life of its own. 00:05:37.158 --> 00:05:43.728 It was like, all of a sudden I was looking at everything through fresh eyes and seeing things in a totally new, different way. 00:05:44.178 --> 00:05:47.478 And the best part was I was truly healing. 00:05:47.709 --> 00:05:50.699 Inside I was becoming a different person. 00:05:50.738 --> 00:05:52.829 I felt different in my own skin. 00:05:53.019 --> 00:06:08.728 I saw the world differently I showed up differently as a spouse as a mom as a friend and I was like, oh my gosh, like how long I've been living this one way and This is what it's all about, right? 00:06:08.738 --> 00:06:09.858 And I'm still growing. 00:06:09.858 --> 00:06:11.618 I don't want to make it sound like I have it all figured out. 00:06:11.978 --> 00:06:12.178 I don't. 00:06:12.188 --> 00:06:12.819 Nobody does. 00:06:12.918 --> 00:06:15.949 Because it's continual work that we'll all continue to do throughout our lives. 00:06:15.968 --> 00:06:24.069 But that's what just created and ignited this passion in me to want to help other people see this and experience this. 00:06:24.149 --> 00:06:30.668 And even if I can be one small little, piece of helping somebody grow, that's amazing. 00:06:30.709 --> 00:06:31.528 No, I agree. 00:06:31.528 --> 00:06:39.868 I guess it's the older you get too, you realize that it's the traumatic events that have the biggest positive impact on your life. 00:06:40.009 --> 00:06:40.528 Absolutely. 00:06:40.538 --> 00:06:42.088 Because we're not going to turn to God. 00:06:42.088 --> 00:06:43.899 We're not going to turn to spirituality. 00:06:44.353 --> 00:06:47.394 If everything is just hunky dory all the time, right? 00:06:47.423 --> 00:07:16.194 And when you say that you are a completely different person, I look back to the person that walked into the doctor's office before I knew my son had cancer, and I look at myself today and I am a completely different person and I am so thankful for the changes that have taken place in my life because, trauma has such a incredible way of waking you up and realizing what's important to you. 00:07:16.524 --> 00:07:26.612 And I think too, that when you ask for help, when you turn to God, when you surrender, it's like, You will be directed on a path that shows you where to go next. 00:07:26.612 --> 00:07:56.546 And I think what's really beautiful is that the subsequent things that have happened for both of us have led us here, and what a beautiful thing and I think that speaks to what spirituality can do and what faith can do I think when you make a decision to have it work for you, not against you really amazing things can happen and it can change us in the best way, if we can, share our own experience and help other people that are in a tough spot or going through things and. 00:07:57.046 --> 00:08:02.057 Want tools or resources or other shared experiences to hang on to. 00:08:02.197 --> 00:08:02.447 Yes. 00:08:02.546 --> 00:08:04.057 And just to feel that you're not alone. 00:08:04.116 --> 00:08:05.937 Everyone has a story, right? 00:08:06.036 --> 00:08:07.206 Everyone has a story. 00:08:07.216 --> 00:08:08.447 Everyone has hardship. 00:08:08.476 --> 00:08:12.146 None of us are, able to get through this life without experiencing that. 00:08:12.146 --> 00:08:16.896 So I think sometimes to hear other people's experiences and stories and know that you're not alone. 00:08:16.926 --> 00:08:17.146 Yep. 00:08:17.426 --> 00:08:19.486 And to know that, we're all. 00:08:19.991 --> 00:08:26.692 Working together to try to do the best we can and what are the tools and ways that can help us through these really hard times? 00:08:27.091 --> 00:08:31.741 So yeah, I just really believe that there's a reason we were brought together and hopefully we can both. 00:08:32.172 --> 00:08:33.971 Do and put some good out into the world. 00:08:34.754 --> 00:08:44.923 In this deeply moving clip from episode 20, the Power of Intention, JASA shares the extraordinary story of her son Roman's healing journey following a leukemia diagnosis. 00:08:45.524 --> 00:08:59.293 What began months earlier as a spiritual curiosity about the science of prayer and healing became an intuitive preparation for what was to come through unwavering faith, collective intention, and a refusal to focus on fear. 00:08:59.803 --> 00:09:03.224 Jasa and her family witnessed what can only be described as miraculous. 00:09:03.808 --> 00:09:10.979 This story is a testament to the power of belief, the strength of community, and the sacred force of a mother's love. 00:09:11.696 --> 00:09:20.586 <v Rachael>Three months before my second oldest son was diagnosed with leukemia, I started becoming absolutely fascinated with topics of healing. 00:09:20.586 --> 00:09:20.786 <v Rachael>Um. 00:09:21.110 --> 00:09:27.911 <v Rachael>I was reading white papers and, you know, scientific journals on the power of prayer double blind studies that they're doing. 00:09:27.931 --> 00:09:33.441 <v Rachael>I just was down this rabbit hole, which like isn't very much unlike me, but I thought the topic was really interesting. 00:09:34.221 --> 00:09:35.490 <v Rachael>and I, I think, 00:09:35.640 --> 00:09:35.701 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>You 00:09:35.941 --> 00:09:43.791 <v Rachael>I know that my soul was sort of prepping me and my intuition was prepping me for what my son was going to need. 00:09:43.980 --> 00:09:54.331 <v Rachael>I basically was reading a blueprint of what to do if a loved one gets a life threatening diagnosis without me really realizing it. 00:09:54.701 --> 00:09:59.980 <v Rachael>So fast forward, my second oldest son gets diagnosed April, 2023. 00:10:00.671 --> 00:10:04.110 <v Rachael>And we just kicked into gear, right? 00:10:04.110 --> 00:10:08.831 <v Rachael>And like very quickly, we knew exactly how we were going to approach this diagnosis. 00:10:09.061 --> 00:10:28.201 <v Rachael>So first and foremost, I have yet to this day, Googled a single thing about his diagnosis haven't done it once like my friends like don't believe me And I'm like why why would I focus on his diagnosis when he's going to health like that does nothing that's fear based That's in my mind where we are today not where we're going. 00:10:28.521 --> 00:10:40.271 <v Rachael>So like that was like a very important mindset I felt like and the things that we did were we almost like crowdsourced group belief in prayer, right? 00:10:40.271 --> 00:10:40.451 <v Rachael>And I 00:10:40.536 --> 00:10:40.616 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>I 00:10:40.730 --> 00:10:46.151 <v Rachael>was not aware of all of these different, you know, studies and impacts of group, 00:10:46.316 --> 00:10:46.336 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>belief 00:10:46.671 --> 00:10:48.471 <v Rachael>group intention and group prayer. 00:10:49.341 --> 00:10:53.641 <v Rachael>But I did believe in the power of visualization and the power of prayer and the 00:10:53.696 --> 00:10:53.806 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>the 00:10:54.391 --> 00:10:56.860 <v Rachael>positive outcomes that can come from that. 00:10:56.901 --> 00:10:57.201 <v Rachael>Yeah. 00:10:57.791 --> 00:10:58.701 <v Rachael>So that's what I went with. 00:10:59.291 --> 00:11:02.251 <v Rachael>And, you know, people would say like, what can you do? 00:11:02.761 --> 00:11:04.021 <v Rachael>And I was very deliberate. 00:11:04.021 --> 00:11:05.201 <v Rachael>I was very repetitive. 00:11:05.201 --> 00:11:06.691 <v Rachael>And so was Charlie. 00:11:07.001 --> 00:11:10.141 <v Rachael>I would say, you know, picture Roman playing 00:11:10.141 --> 00:11:10.171 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>I 00:11:10.171 --> 00:11:10.230 <v Rachael>I'm 00:11:10.355 --> 00:11:11.381 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>I 00:11:11.381 --> 00:11:12.350 <v Rachael>gonna get emotional. 00:11:12.771 --> 00:11:13.001 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>Oh 00:11:14.241 --> 00:11:23.360 <v Rachael>I would say picture Roman playing soccer in the backyard with his brothers and picture him graduating high school and picture him dancing at his wedding. 00:11:24.501 --> 00:11:25.730 <v Rachael>And I just kept saying that. 00:11:26.331 --> 00:11:28.431 <v Rachael>And people were like, I'm on it. 00:11:28.946 --> 00:11:29.676 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>you know, 00:11:30.355 --> 00:11:32.256 <v Rachael>I mean, you were very much one of those people 00:11:32.730 --> 00:11:34.041 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>Doing 00:11:34.046 --> 00:11:36.346 <v Rachael>visualizations and prayers. 00:11:36.346 --> 00:11:38.066 <v Rachael>And I would say, I would send very specific things. 00:11:38.066 --> 00:11:39.586 <v Rachael>I would say, okay, we're going into surgery. 00:11:40.086 --> 00:11:41.796 <v Rachael>You know, this is what we're believing for. 00:11:42.216 --> 00:11:45.636 <v Rachael>And which was so helpful to you as someone trying to support you. 00:11:45.836 --> 00:11:46.156 <v Rachael>Yes. 00:11:46.206 --> 00:11:49.426 <v Rachael>You know, it was like now I'm like, damn, two people agree. 00:11:49.626 --> 00:11:50.056 <v Rachael>Yeah. 00:11:50.156 --> 00:11:50.526 <v Rachael>All right. 00:11:50.536 --> 00:11:51.286 <v Rachael>Well, you know. 00:11:51.676 --> 00:11:52.316 <v Rachael>Amazing. 00:11:52.416 --> 00:11:53.086 <v Rachael>Now I get it. 00:11:53.096 --> 00:11:53.276 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>it. 00:11:53.696 --> 00:11:56.876 <v Rachael>And, um, you know, we were very consistent. 00:11:56.926 --> 00:11:58.756 <v Rachael>We were visualizing his health. 00:11:58.776 --> 00:12:03.426 <v Rachael>We were visualizing, you know, the cancer just disappearing from his body. 00:12:03.826 --> 00:12:04.756 <v Rachael>You know, we had we had 00:12:04.886 --> 00:12:04.985 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>we had, 00:12:05.086 --> 00:12:08.605 <v Rachael>really scary things happen in the hospital, right? 00:12:08.626 --> 00:12:14.506 <v Rachael>So, What happens when the physical world is not matching what you're believing for? 00:12:14.626 --> 00:12:14.936 <v Rachael>Yeah. 00:12:14.966 --> 00:12:15.306 <v Rachael>Right. 00:12:15.306 --> 00:12:16.725 <v Rachael>Like what happens? 00:12:17.176 --> 00:12:22.376 <v Rachael>Well, for us, we kept going, but like, I understand the fear of Oh my gosh, like he's getting worse. 00:12:22.386 --> 00:12:24.926 <v Rachael>Like this is, we're not trending in the right direction. 00:12:24.946 --> 00:12:30.906 <v Rachael>So we had a couple, you know, very, very scary days, but something really crazy happened. 00:12:30.916 --> 00:12:33.076 <v Rachael>So, you know, basically 00:12:33.561 --> 00:12:34.610 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>basically every 00:12:34.806 --> 00:12:37.286 <v Rachael>everything that the doctor said in the beginning 00:12:37.901 --> 00:12:38.321 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>like 00:12:39.016 --> 00:12:39.906 <v Rachael>Didn't happen. 00:12:40.336 --> 00:12:40.826 <v Rachael>Mm hmm. 00:12:41.406 --> 00:12:50.676 <v Rachael>So the very first thing that happened was they did a spinal tap It was like one of his first procedures and he said well based on the amount of cancer in his body 00:12:51.855 --> 00:12:52.406 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>Um, 00:12:52.546 --> 00:12:58.931 <v Rachael>see it's coming up on the x ray and the cat scans Um, it's very likely he's gonna need radiation in his spine. 00:13:00.141 --> 00:13:04.531 <v Rachael>Okay, like, alright, we'll deal with that, we'll deal, we'll deal with it when we have to deal with it. 00:13:05.480 --> 00:13:09.341 <v Rachael>Come out of the procedure room, his spinal fluid's clear. 00:13:09.931 --> 00:13:11.331 <v Rachael>Unbelievable, right? 00:13:11.761 --> 00:13:13.850 <v Rachael>So we're like, alright, that's great news. 00:13:14.441 --> 00:13:17.451 <v Rachael>he had a severe reaction to his first dose of chemo. 00:13:17.841 --> 00:13:19.541 <v Rachael>totally overwhelmed his body. 00:13:19.610 --> 00:13:25.221 <v Rachael>It basically worked too well and he had something called Tumorolysis, and Tumorolysis can be deadly. 00:13:25.581 --> 00:13:25.811 <v Rachael>Yeah. 00:13:25.891 --> 00:13:35.821 <v Rachael>And, it was probably the, not probably, it was the scariest 12, 18 hours of her life where you know, a lot of crazy stuff went down. 00:13:35.831 --> 00:13:40.521 <v Rachael>He ended up in the ICU after an emergency surgery, went on dialysis. 00:13:41.556 --> 00:13:44.046 <v Rachael>And they told us, he's going to be in the ICU for two weeks. 00:13:44.096 --> 00:13:46.316 <v Rachael>buckle up, you're going to be here for a while. 00:13:46.936 --> 00:13:53.036 <v Rachael>And, they also said that they expected him to be on dialysis probably two cycles of three days. 00:13:53.086 --> 00:13:54.446 <v Rachael>So a total of six days. 00:13:54.846 --> 00:13:57.596 <v Rachael>They do dialysis for three days, take him off, put him back on. 00:13:58.426 --> 00:14:07.336 <v Rachael>And, this child, okay, spent one night in the ICU. 00:14:07.985 --> 00:14:08.896 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>One 00:14:09.176 --> 00:14:12.336 <v Rachael>One night in the ICU, not two weeks, one night. 00:14:12.596 --> 00:14:14.576 <v Rachael>Yeah, they took him off dialysis. 00:14:15.181 --> 00:14:19.621 <v Rachael>I think it was 24 hours after they put him on it 00:14:19.626 --> 00:14:19.826 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>it 00:14:20.781 --> 00:14:22.661 <v Rachael>and did not need to put him on it a second time. 00:14:23.041 --> 00:14:28.741 <v Rachael>We had doctors coming by and saying, I heard about this kid. 00:14:28.783 --> 00:14:29.021 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>kid. 00:14:29.331 --> 00:14:31.241 <v Rachael>I got to see him with my own two eyes. 00:14:31.241 --> 00:14:32.051 <v Rachael>With my own eyes. 00:14:32.100 --> 00:14:37.151 <v Rachael>And they're looking at the x rays of the progress of his tumor shrinking and they said it's unbelievable. 00:14:37.521 --> 00:14:40.201 <v Rachael>And you could literally see the cancer leaving his body. 00:14:40.230 --> 00:14:41.641 <v Rachael>It was like sludgy slush 00:14:41.841 --> 00:14:42.415 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>coming 00:14:42.761 --> 00:14:44.781 <v Rachael>coming out of the dialysis machine, right? 00:14:44.781 --> 00:14:46.301 <v Rachael>Just clearing out of his body. 00:14:47.546 --> 00:14:55.576 <v Rachael>And, I found out a couple days later, so they, like, kicked us out of the ICU, and one of his main oncologists 00:14:55.846 --> 00:14:56.366 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>oncologists said, 00:14:56.406 --> 00:15:01.256 <v Rachael>came in on his care team, and she said, Roman's remarkable. 00:15:01.706 --> 00:15:02.546 <v Rachael>He's remarkable. 00:15:02.776 --> 00:15:10.186 <v Rachael>She's going through all this data and at this point I have no clue like A and C all these different terms and she said 00:15:10.401 --> 00:15:10.951 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>um, 00:15:11.096 --> 00:15:12.996 <v Rachael>no longer has cancer in his body. 00:15:13.735 --> 00:15:14.846 <v Rachael>And I said since when? 00:15:15.526 --> 00:15:16.406 <v Rachael>And she said 00:15:16.641 --> 00:15:16.656 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>um, 00:15:16.756 --> 00:15:32.975 <v Rachael>April 20th And that was three days after he was diagnosed Three days like they're seeing it on his labs and what's remarkable was that was the day he woke up in the ICU You And it was like this life force was back like his 00:15:33.046 --> 00:15:33.266 <v Spirit Outspoken's video recording-2>his 00:15:33.716 --> 00:16:03.975 <v Rachael>I have a picture of it with him eating his cake pop He woke up and he said I want I want great and right grits And we heard him speak and and charlie and I like literally jumped out of our respective sleeping areas Yeah, and we're just staring at him and we are looking at him and his eyes And when I say like, you know, the, the difference between what he looked like there versus one of the scariest times of her life, it was remarkable. 00:16:04.266 --> 00:16:09.456 <v Rachael>But I believe that day was when my son was healed, like cancer was gone. 00:16:10.156 --> 00:16:19.616 <v Rachael>And I believe it was because of the hundreds of people that were aligned and believing for his perfect health and outcomes. 00:16:20.578 --> 00:16:24.868 In episode three, we explored the power of meta or loving kindness meditation. 00:16:25.048 --> 00:16:33.148 A practice rooted in Buddhism that helps dissolve anger, judgment, and jealousy while cultivating compassion, empathy, and inner peace. 00:16:33.508 --> 00:16:42.238 We shared personal stories, practical steps, and the transformative impact this simple, yet profound practice can have on your emotional and spiritual wellbeing. 00:16:43.467 --> 00:16:56.132 But as a principle, Metta is often translated as loving kindness, and it involves cultivating unconditional love, warmth, friendliness, and goodwill towards all living beings. 00:16:56.162 --> 00:16:58.572 And I love that part about all living beings in particular. 00:16:59.072 --> 00:17:04.192 So this includes other people, ourselves, animals, and the environment. 00:17:04.422 --> 00:17:13.342 Basically anything that is a part of the natural world, MED is actually attached to a spiritual quality, wanting and wishing the best for someone or something. 00:17:13.672 --> 00:17:15.991 So warmth, friendliness, goodwill. 00:17:16.352 --> 00:17:34.612 And, I would say even in situations where someone might be difficult or challenging, even starting with just a simple, level of respect, right, respecting that it is another person who has been created by God and acknowledging that as a basis of where to start. 00:17:34.852 --> 00:17:40.301 And I think what's cool about this is that this practice, it touches on what I was saying about my own experience, right? 00:17:40.352 --> 00:18:01.991 I really found it to neutralize and dissolve feelings of anger, resentment, sadness, like really heavy feelings So this isn't just theoretical, you guys, this is a practice and a way that you can approach negative feelings that quite honestly can torment us on any given day. 00:18:02.041 --> 00:18:02.451 Yeah. 00:18:02.852 --> 00:18:07.311 And so how do we actually begin to take this and practice it? 00:18:07.352 --> 00:18:07.501 Yeah. 00:18:07.501 --> 00:18:07.991 How do we do it? 00:18:08.001 --> 00:18:08.821 How do we do it? 00:18:08.902 --> 00:18:43.657 It's all about mindfulness and intention and we begin by simply reflecting on our emotional state and our feelings and how we're responding to others, whether that's a scenario or a person, we want to look at ourselves and this struck a chord with me from doing therapy because I thought about, one of the things that I had learned to that has been so helpful to me was that typically when we have a large emotional reaction or response to something or really feel lit up and agitated, it says a lot more about something going on with us the other person involved. 00:18:44.076 --> 00:19:06.432 And so my therapist had given me the Wonderful tip of, hey, anytime you have a really strong reaction to something, whether that's judgment or frustration or anger, pause and think about what it is within you that's causing that, because typically it's some underlying hurt, fear, insecurity, something is going on within you to cause that result. 00:19:06.731 --> 00:19:11.542 Just simply observing and being aware of where do I feel this in my body? 00:19:11.552 --> 00:19:13.072 What's happening right now? 00:19:13.082 --> 00:19:15.322 What kind of emotions are coming up for me? 00:19:15.332 --> 00:19:20.701 Just acknowledging and being very objective in viewing me. 00:19:20.701 --> 00:19:20.717 for listening. 00:19:21.187 --> 00:19:30.287 Your response to something so after you reflect, you intentionally send loving kindness, to yourself and the other party involved. 00:19:30.287 --> 00:19:39.457 You do this by simply concentrating and reciting, either in your head or out loud, whatever you want to do, phrases of good wishes towards yourself and the other person. 00:19:39.817 --> 00:19:52.146 So you can make up whatever phrase you want to do, but for example, I have one that I love to do, which is just four phrases of may you be happy, may you be healthy, may you be safe, may you be free. 00:19:52.872 --> 00:19:54.852 And that was just the way that somebody taught me. 00:19:54.971 --> 00:19:56.211 And so that's the one I do. 00:19:56.261 --> 00:20:01.672 And I love your version of it because it does feel so grounded in basic humanity. 00:20:01.711 --> 00:20:01.932 Yes. 00:20:02.372 --> 00:20:03.662 It doesn't feel fake. 00:20:04.292 --> 00:20:04.612 Exactly. 00:20:04.612 --> 00:20:14.362 And I can still be really upset with you and still wish that on a human level, you have peace, that you're safe, that you, have all these very basic human needs. 00:20:14.917 --> 00:20:21.057 And it just allows that process to begin in a way that feels real and authentic. 00:20:21.875 --> 00:20:26.495 Episode 11 brought us our first guest, somatic psychotherapist, Lenora Lemke. 00:20:26.765 --> 00:20:35.855 Lenora shared her powerful perspective on emotions, not as problems to fix, but as vital parts of our spirit, from fear to sadness, to anger. 00:20:36.005 --> 00:20:41.585 She explains how each emotion carries a message and how embracing them brings us back to our truest selves. 00:20:42.366 --> 00:20:45.477 <v Lenora Lemke>So I think of emotions in that kind of way. 00:20:45.876 --> 00:20:50.437 <v Lenora Lemke>I see them as parts of ourselves and I see them as very important parts of ourselves. 00:20:51.067 --> 00:21:01.247 <v Lenora Lemke>So, for example, fear keeps us safe, like we need to know what the threats are so that if there's any threat out there, we're careful and we think about it and we take precautions. 00:21:01.646 --> 00:21:05.644 <v Lenora Lemke>anger comes up when our boundaries are violated and we need to have, caution. 00:21:05.965 --> 00:21:14.245 <v Lenora Lemke>Either have a boundary or it comes up to us when something's not fair, when something needs to change, sadness is a way to let go. 00:21:14.245 --> 00:21:15.615 <v Lenora Lemke>It's a grieving process. 00:21:15.664 --> 00:21:19.634 <v Lenora Lemke>So I, I see it as, and, I don't know if I'm right. 00:21:19.815 --> 00:21:26.055 <v Lenora Lemke>I mean, if, or even if there is one right way, but I see it as Basically, it's who we are. 00:21:26.055 --> 00:21:26.914 <v Lenora Lemke>It's our spirit. 00:21:27.055 --> 00:21:29.745 <v Lenora Lemke>It's parts of our spirit, parts of our aliveness. 00:21:30.245 --> 00:21:32.225 <v Lenora Lemke>And we have lots of different parts of ourselves. 00:21:32.644 --> 00:21:34.955 <v Lenora Lemke>And they all have good messages for us. 00:21:35.005 --> 00:21:36.715 <v Lenora Lemke>They all have something important to share. 00:21:37.515 --> 00:21:55.085 <v Lenora Lemke>So it's important to listen to them,, right, is like, why do we need sadness, like why it's just, she just slows us down, and it's uncomfortable, and can cause us to feel depressed, but it showed us that, we can really feel deep connection with others, and grieving draws us closer and helps us to let go of things. 00:21:55.134 --> 00:22:00.225 <v Lenora Lemke>And honestly, it's never the Emotion that causes the issue is our defenses around it. 00:22:01.115 --> 00:22:06.365 <v Lenora Lemke>the fear of having the emotion or it's the shame that comes up with the emotion or it's the. 00:22:06.944 --> 00:22:18.035 <v Lenora Lemke>Protective part of us that fights us to try to not let us have that emotion and that protective part, like if it's dissociation or if it's intellectualization, where we get caught up into our thoughts, that's what's uncomfortable. 00:22:18.045 --> 00:22:19.495 <v Lenora Lemke>That's what makes things difficult. 00:22:19.495 --> 00:22:23.545 <v Lenora Lemke>But if we just lean into the emotion, and it's not always that simple. 00:22:23.545 --> 00:22:28.345 <v Lenora Lemke>Of course, it helps to have a therapist to help you navigate that, But, but just, to simplify it. 00:22:28.644 --> 00:22:35.105 <v Lenora Lemke>That's really all it is, is just reconnecting with our true spirit, our, all the parts of ourselves that are real and true. 00:22:35.861 --> 00:22:38.530 Episode 10 was entitled Emotional Vulnerability. 00:22:38.651 --> 00:22:46.421 And in this episode we talked about the courage it takes to speak your truth and how doing so can reveal whether you're really aligned with your authentic self. 00:22:46.901 --> 00:22:57.101 We also explored how blending spiritual practices can deepen, not dilute your faith, helping you experience God and your beliefs in an even more tangible, personal way. 00:22:58.375 --> 00:23:07.355 But I think the other benefit is you learn more about yourself because if you say the things that you are scared to say out loud. 00:23:08.720 --> 00:23:12.340 You, you get an indicator of how it makes you feel, right? 00:23:12.380 --> 00:23:21.830 Like you get that kind of gut check, like, all right, I have these thoughts in the back of my mind and I'm scared to say I'm out loud because of fear of judgment. 00:23:22.400 --> 00:23:26.120 And then you speak them and one of two things can happen. 00:23:26.190 --> 00:23:31.360 You could say, I don't know if that actually connects with my inner self, but you speak them. 00:23:31.360 --> 00:23:34.900 And you say, that felt like I was speaking my truth. 00:23:35.855 --> 00:23:40.684 That can tell you if you're on the right path or not for you as an individual, yeah. 00:23:40.715 --> 00:23:51.000 And I think that that is the beauty of blurring the lines a little bit, like, and we're even seeing now, I mean, look at the, all of the different, Churches within Christianity, right? 00:23:51.009 --> 00:24:07.549 Like there went through a phase where literally there was like 15 different types of Christianity Yeah, there is all of these very specific divisive things and different things within the church and that gave in some ways Power to own individuals to say like, okay. 00:24:07.549 --> 00:24:09.360 I don't like that flavor of Christianity. 00:24:09.360 --> 00:24:10.430 I like this other one. 00:24:10.559 --> 00:24:18.430 Yeah What's the harm in saying like, okay, I want to incorporate other aspects of spirituality that aren't just Christianity, right? 00:24:18.430 --> 00:24:19.539 Like what's the difference? 00:24:19.539 --> 00:24:20.860 We all have the same God. 00:24:20.970 --> 00:24:21.380 Yeah. 00:24:21.460 --> 00:24:33.850 And that might also enhance, and that's been my experience that some of these, if you want to call them more mainstream or new age, spirituality, or New Age practices, if you want to call them that. 00:24:34.470 --> 00:24:44.230 Really, what I'm finding as I learn more about them is, one, so many of them are steeped in science, and I've always been a big believer that science only proves that there is a creator in something large. 00:24:44.250 --> 00:24:44.590 Yes. 00:24:44.600 --> 00:24:45.350 Larger than ourselves. 00:24:45.360 --> 00:24:46.440 It reaffirms your faith. 00:24:46.450 --> 00:24:46.799 Yeah. 00:24:46.990 --> 00:24:59.039 And so I see those two going together, and I have found, similarly, that a lot of these practices only help me experience Christ in a more tangible way. 00:24:59.650 --> 00:25:00.500 Yes. 00:25:00.600 --> 00:25:10.240 You know, it's like I take it, I put it through my Christian filter and I'm allowed to experience my Christianity in a new and different way that feels even more real and even more tangible. 00:25:10.640 --> 00:25:11.279 Yes. 00:25:11.450 --> 00:25:12.480 And that's what I love. 00:25:12.960 --> 00:25:21.309 I love that too In episode 17, JASA introduced us to the incredible podcast, the Telepathy Tapes, and it blew our hearts wide open. 00:25:21.759 --> 00:25:28.509 In this clip, we had a conversation about how true awakening, remembering who we really are, can shake the foundations of power. 00:25:28.840 --> 00:25:35.559 We reflect on the wisdom of nonverbal autistic individuals and how they might just be some of our greatest spiritual teachers. 00:25:36.110 --> 00:25:46.519 This is a reminder that the systems we live in weren't necessarily built for our highest selves, and that in order for us to reach our highest potential, some things may just need to crumble 00:25:47.299 --> 00:25:56.549 <v Jaisa>So like what would telepathy and this like understanding and remembering of who we are Who would that threaten? 00:25:57.000 --> 00:25:58.370 <v Rachael>It threatens the people in power. 00:25:58.490 --> 00:26:17.130 <v Rachael>Because if we step into who we are fully, and we're no longer afraid, and we're no longer able to be controlled because we can access knowledge like never before, you know, some of these kids talk about, you know, like we said, going places and being able to gain all this incredible knowledge through centuries. 00:26:17.230 --> 00:26:17.340 <v Rachael>Yeah. 00:26:17.660 --> 00:26:20.069 <v Rachael>And wisdom and insight. 00:26:20.450 --> 00:26:21.870 <v Rachael>I think it threatens a lot of people. 00:26:22.250 --> 00:26:23.509 <v Jaisa>Oh, everything would crumble. 00:26:23.809 --> 00:26:24.150 <v Rachael>Yeah, 00:26:24.450 --> 00:26:27.680 <v Jaisa>everything would crumble in, in a way that would need to. 00:26:27.980 --> 00:26:28.279 <v Rachael>Yeah. 00:26:28.309 --> 00:26:28.610 <v Jaisa>Right. 00:26:28.630 --> 00:26:29.279 <v Jaisa>Like there would know 00:26:29.279 --> 00:26:30.009 <v Rachael>in the best way, 00:26:30.019 --> 00:26:32.539 <v Jaisa>in the best way, in the best way. 00:26:32.930 --> 00:26:36.400 <v Jaisa>So you had written down some really powerful quotes. 00:26:36.700 --> 00:26:37.080 <v Rachael>Yes. 00:26:37.870 --> 00:26:38.660 <v Jaisa>Beautiful kids. 00:26:38.690 --> 00:26:39.200 <v Rachael>Oh my gosh. 00:26:39.220 --> 00:26:40.289 <v Rachael>The last episode. 00:26:40.549 --> 00:26:44.130 <v Rachael>Is so powerful because what they did is it's just writing. 00:26:44.630 --> 00:26:47.900 <v Rachael>from the nonverbal autistic individuals themselves. 00:26:47.950 --> 00:26:49.880 <v Rachael>And they are so profound and beautiful. 00:26:50.519 --> 00:27:00.375 <v Rachael>And, you know, the other thing about this, podcast Reiterated time and time again that basically these people who we deem. 00:27:00.894 --> 00:27:09.775 <v Rachael>As low functioning, low intelligence, all these different things, because they don't conform and look and behave in the way that we think they should in this physical realm. 00:27:09.805 --> 00:27:10.965 <v Jaisa>They don't fit into our box. 00:27:11.654 --> 00:27:15.934 <v Rachael>But they actually are here to wake us up and be our greatest teachers. 00:27:16.713 --> 00:27:22.713 In episode 25, we introduced viewers to the incredible Chelsea Power of Mon Temple in Victoria, Australia. 00:27:23.134 --> 00:27:30.064 Chelsea educated us on how she combines kinesiology and somatic healing to help people pinpoint stored emotions and memories. 00:27:30.423 --> 00:27:32.494 Especially those linked to past trauma. 00:27:33.064 --> 00:27:41.134 By mapping these emotions to specific organs and experiences, she enables clients to navigate and release the stress they carry in their bodies. 00:27:41.584 --> 00:27:49.834 This conversation offered a profound look at how our bodies hold on to the stories of our lives and how kinesiology can be a tool for healing. 00:27:50.574 --> 00:27:53.514 <v Chelsey>so I am a multi-modality practitioner. 00:27:54.324 --> 00:27:59.144 <v Chelsey>in the game for around 12 years and acquired a few, certifications along the way. 00:27:59.594 --> 00:28:03.223 <v Chelsey>But my foundation training is in kinesiology. 00:28:03.254 --> 00:28:16.384 <v Chelsey>And for those who don't know what kinesiology is, we use the body's, magnetic or energetic receptors to understand stress or ease in the body. 00:28:16.774 --> 00:28:26.778 <v Chelsey>So when I work with a body, this is how kinesiology works, The body will send out stress receptors when it is in a disagreeing state. 00:28:26.989 --> 00:28:33.169 <v Chelsey>So if I was to say to you, while testing your body in a kinesiology way, can you say, my name is Bob. 00:28:33.318 --> 00:28:41.058 <v Chelsey>Your body will naturally reject that and the energy in the body dips and you can feel that and test it with kinesiology. 00:28:41.239 --> 00:28:48.588 <v Chelsey>If, we were to say that I love chocolate and you really do, you'll have a really strong response, which is a positive response. 00:28:48.588 --> 00:29:00.278 <v Chelsey>And so we can use kinesiology to help us understand what areas in your life are creating a real, stress response or your environment or people that you interact with or the way that you think. 00:29:00.699 --> 00:29:01.828 <v Chelsey>So that's it in a nutshell. 00:29:01.828 --> 00:29:03.179 <v Chelsey>And that's the basis of my work. 00:29:03.179 --> 00:29:09.269 <v Chelsey>And then I bring a somatic overlay, which essentially means how does this feel in my body? 00:29:10.318 --> 00:29:12.419 <v Chelsey>How does this statement feel in my body? 00:29:12.629 --> 00:29:15.269 <v Chelsey>How does this interaction feel in my body? 00:29:15.269 --> 00:29:17.489 <v Chelsey>How does this memory feel in my body? 00:29:17.729 --> 00:29:25.019 <v Chelsey>And we start to create a landscape and a mapping and understanding of how do our experiences reflect in our body? 00:29:25.409 --> 00:29:28.679 <v Chelsey>And if you use kinesiology, what is this stressful? 00:29:28.679 --> 00:29:30.598 <v Chelsey>Or am I in agreeance with this? 00:29:30.629 --> 00:29:31.838 <v Chelsey>Is this good for me? 00:29:32.489 --> 00:29:36.778 <v Chelsey>We're essentially using the body as a radar to help us navigate and change things in our lives. 00:29:37.094 --> 00:29:51.774 <v Chelsey>And so the coolest thing, and I get really excited about it, is, particularly in the way that I use kinesiology, is that we are looking for specific emotions and then where has the body housed them? 00:29:52.494 --> 00:30:00.534 <v Chelsey>So when we feel an overwhelming emotion, there has to be a process that the body goes through for it to dissipate. 00:30:00.534 --> 00:30:04.044 <v Chelsey>What happens most of the time actually is that we're overwhelmed. 00:30:04.134 --> 00:30:06.903 <v Chelsey>Our process doesn't kick in, and then we store. 00:30:07.604 --> 00:30:09.953 <v Chelsey>that's how we get through is I don't wanna feel this feeling. 00:30:09.984 --> 00:30:15.144 <v Chelsey>It's too hard, it's too overwhelming, and the body says, okay, that's too much for us. 00:30:15.264 --> 00:30:17.244 <v Chelsey>Let me house it somewhere else. 00:30:17.817 --> 00:30:24.386 <v Chelsey>So in kinesiology we can map which emotion is stored in which organ. 00:30:24.386 --> 00:30:30.596 <v Chelsey>We can even take it further and understand at what age did you store that? 00:30:30.836 --> 00:30:33.448 <v Chelsey>How many times has it been an issue for you? 00:30:33.927 --> 00:30:37.497 <v Chelsey>And you can pinpoint into, is it with a particular parent? 00:30:37.707 --> 00:30:40.797 <v Chelsey>Is it with a particular um, person? 00:30:40.856 --> 00:30:45.567 <v Chelsey>Maybe it was the first day of school, maybe it was riding your bike home and you were late. 00:30:46.047 --> 00:30:55.707 <v Chelsey>Like you can find these memories and find the story, what I call the body story so that you can understand them and then finish the processing. 00:30:56.494 --> 00:31:00.963 Episode 26 provided a deeply moving and heartfelt conversation with Melissa Pierce. 00:31:01.399 --> 00:31:12.169 Teacher, author, psychotherapist, and founder of the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method, an owner of Touched by a Horse, a true pioneer in the field of human horse healing. 00:31:12.558 --> 00:31:16.489 Melissa shared how horses have guided her life and work for over three decades. 00:31:17.163 --> 00:31:29.554 Together we explored the spiritual power of horses, their innate ability to sense and reflect our emotions, read our thoughts, and how their presence creates a sacred space for emotional release, personal growth and healing. 00:31:30.183 --> 00:31:40.984 Melissa weaved together her expertise in Gestalt therapy with her soul deep connection to horses reminding us what's possible when we slow down, tune in and let ourselves be seen. 00:31:41.814 --> 00:31:47.304 <v Melisa Pearce>Horses live a very Gestalt life, and so Gestalt and horses go together really, really well. 00:31:47.304 --> 00:31:52.884 <v Melisa Pearce>So I, I've never looked back since I started doing it with them as the best partners they could possibly be. 00:31:53.183 --> 00:31:56.519 <v Melisa Pearce>Because they hear it, they see it in their mind's eye, they feel it. 00:31:56.519 --> 00:32:00.598 <v Melisa Pearce>They honor when people are lying to themselves, they'll set boundaries. 00:32:00.598 --> 00:32:02.578 <v Melisa Pearce>They're just really incredible. 00:32:02.629 --> 00:32:04.361 <v Melisa Pearce>You know, they've drug our fields. 00:32:04.391 --> 00:32:07.221 <v Melisa Pearce>They've taken us to war, not their wars, our wars. 00:32:07.221 --> 00:32:10.131 <v Melisa Pearce>They have died for us in so many situations. 00:32:10.431 --> 00:32:12.561 <v Melisa Pearce>They jump over jumps to entertain us. 00:32:12.561 --> 00:32:13.401 <v Melisa Pearce>They race for us. 00:32:13.401 --> 00:32:17.240 <v Melisa Pearce>I mean, they do so many different things through the eons. 00:32:17.540 --> 00:32:23.901 <v Melisa Pearce>But for my work, what they're good at is looking and finding what's fractured in you and helping to make it whole. 00:32:23.901 --> 00:32:25.716 <v Melisa Pearce>I mean, that's their beauty. 00:32:25.926 --> 00:32:33.786 <v Melisa Pearce>I think they've been offering it always, but people were so interested in the"doing" with the horse instead of the"being" with the horse. 00:32:34.029 --> 00:32:41.769 <v Melisa Pearce>What my mission in the world is that people will hold horses at a higher level, actually see them in a more spiritual and higher level. 00:32:41.900 --> 00:32:43.160 <v Melisa Pearce>It's their essential gift. 00:32:43.160 --> 00:32:45.680 <v Melisa Pearce>They're willing to give it if we're willing to receive it. 00:32:46.967 --> 00:32:58.697 Oh my gosh, you
