Using a GLP-1 with Type 1 Diabetes
This week we have Lindsay Cohen a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with a personal connection to diabetes. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age nine, she is deeply committed to empowering individuals living with diabetes. In 2023, Lindsay founded Mama-Betes, a dedicated platform offering 1:1 nutrition counseling, valuable resources, and a monthly newsletter, specifically designed to support moms navigating type 1, type 2, gestational, and prediabetes.
In this episode we talk about her experience with using a GLP-1 as a person with Type 1 Diabetes, the push back from her endocrinologist, advice she has for people with Type 1, and what she sees for the future of GLP-1 medications and diabetes.
