You're listening to the ride cast a top 25 worldwide business podcast if it's radical we cover it. Here's your host Ryan Altered. What's up guys welcome to the latest edition of the rad cast Friday January 20th 20 23 joined as always back Kristine Yassi. Where does the time go? I'm looking at this date like what in the world? Zooming by. How are your resolutions going? Resolutions are good. I don't know. Goals are looking good. You know, like they're in order. You're not completely blown up. I feel like I haven't started mine because I was sick the first week and I'm like, have I eaten a vegetable at all in J. Yeah, you're wearing, but it's fine. Like at the whole year. Yeah. My goals are just tightening up a few things. Yeah. Yeah. And so far. Okay. I got some comedy shows but so do okay. There you go. Yeah. That's all good. I got a comedy show this weekend. I do too. Actually, I have one in York on Friday and then one right here at Social House. I know. Saturday. In the Greenville area come check us out. Socialhouse socialhouse dot club. Yeah. Got some great comics. Comics coming this weekend. 10 bucks if you're a non-member. None if you're a member. So yeah, it'll be fun. Yeah. It's going to be a good night. I mean, who does it like to laugh, you know? Truly though. I mean, comedy's great. And I don't go to enough. Like the colon, I really enjoy it. And we would go two or three times a year to various things. But we always say, when we go, I'm going to do that more often. It's like then you forget about it. You're busy. You're not in the scene. You're not in the scene. Now we're bringing it to you. I know. I started having it. Look, I know. I know why I'm here. Bring in the laughs. You know, we have some fun news. Kanye has not been the last couple episodes. But he's back in in the news with his new wife. Quotes around wife. Be out there. The story. Well, so what I just googled is she's an Australian and entrepreneur. No one knew who she was until they like got married. And apparently she was working on she's an architect as well. And was working on designing one of his company, like working with Yeezy. So that's how they met. But less than two months after his divorce was finalized, they've now like said vows. Nothing is legal. I think she might have been architecting something. You know, erecting something if you will. If you will. So we'll see what happens. And she looks like a clone of Kim. Yes, she looks just like her. You show me the pictures. And I'm like, whoa. Yeah, copy and paste. Nice. So we'll see. I mean, she was easy on the eyes. Yeah. But you know, he trained. Is she okay in the head? Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. Like did she look like Kim first or did Kim look like? Well, she's significantly younger than Kim. So I would think that new model traded in. Yep. Upgrading. Downgrade. That's what, you know, if Leo can do it, then we clearly, Yee thinks he can do it as well. Yee do it as he wants it. He plays it on that. And then we have what we're getting into our Super Bowl ads. Heineken has a Super Bowl ad for non-alcoholic beer. They will star Gerald Paul Rudd, Ant-Man. So first things first, and we talked about this pre-episode. But the growth of mocktails is quite interesting to me. Yeah, beyond dry January. I just, you know, it's fascinating what takes hold. Like, I understand like if you're under 21, maybe the sort of, you know, getting to try things. Right. Right. You know, wanting to be trendy or whatever. And something beyond Sprite. Yeah. But at the end of the day, these are just like sweet drinks that don't have any kick to them. Yeah. It's such an interesting market because it's, you know, you've got soda and soft drinks. And then you have like healthy sodas and soft drinks. And then you have energy drinks. And you have a healthy energy drinks. And I don't think that's ever translated with alcohol. And now it's like, you don't have healthy alcohol. You just have this rebranded juice is what it knows like. I'm having a mocktail. Yeah. So is it just trendy to be trendy? Like I, it's obviously a huge trend because it's like booming. Right. But I'm trying to order like super insight behind it because for me, all of my drinks have a purpose. Right. But I wanted to order is to hydrate energy for energy. Right. And then boost to take it all away. Right. And now like this just popped in my head. I guess like if I, which I am not and will not be for a very long time, if I were pregnant and I was going out with like my partner to a bar, I don't want to just be sipping on Diet Coke. Yeah. So I get like, yeah, moments like that, maybe. Yeah. Or if you're a business woman and you're going out all the time, I think I was the original mocktail maker. So here's the deal. Oh, ever, ever when I was 10 years old. My God. And I would go to the church basketball games. We had the story. So they had, they had the, the first fountain things that had the multiple. Oh, my, uh, you know, the Coke Sprite. So the things when you go to the drinks now. Oh, yeah. Which is it? That's a mocktail. Like a little scientist. Yeah. Like a little concoction. You're wine. My personal favorite. Cheer wine. Sprite. Diet Coke and Mountain Dew. That's a combo. That's a mocktail in heaven. There you go. There you go. That was the original mocktail bartender. My friend mixes liquid IV with shit. Which isn't a mocktail. Um, but you know, it gets into your bloodstream. Yeah. Good. Like that. I'm like, okay. Yeah. You do you. Out there. Well, it's better than an IV of gin. True. Which is there, but I sort of thought you were saying it first. Yeah. Just a little. I was like, whoa, who do tell more? This is a quicker way to pleasure. But this is the first time a non-alcoholic beer has been advertised during the Super Bowl. Interesting. Yeah. It is a big deal. Uh, have you seen Ant-Man originally? I have not. No, but I just want some Paul Rudd. I do like Paul Rudd. Uh, and look, hey, a huge string kind of can tie themselves to it. Yeah. It's on the Super Bowl. I get it. And it does show you if they're spending what's probably like five to 10 million dollars in the 30-second spot. They believe that the timing is right. Yeah. To produce, you know, to be putting a non-alcoholic beverage out there. Right. To see how big the trend is. So, there's a lot of money in this. A lot of money in energy drinks and all kinds of stuff. I have a couple of people that talking with about like getting into the energy drink business. Like actually making one. Yeah. So we'll see. But they, but the mocktail, I'm telling you, a church basketball game circa 1987. That was original mocktail called the Alfred mocktail. We'll call it something better than that. But hey, next time you go to one of those coke, like superhero, I call it the superhero fountain, whatever, when you get to choose whatever. You just blend those things. Yeah. Like time you're a mose. Yeah. You become the mixologist. There you go. It's your local mose or a firehouse. Perfect. Jerry Johns. Yes. Exactly. We had a great episode last week. So we make food. Yeah. Best business advice on the planet. It really was. I listened to it and listening back. I don't do enough. I'm such a journey guy, like journeys, everything. I don't sit back sometimes and go. When we get to a destination, we accomplish certain things or like with the radcasts. We've grown. I don't know that I reflect on the quality of some of the volume of guests that we've had. What we've been doing is intermixing. We're creating. I wouldn't call them the best stuff. We're aggregating advice in certain specific areas that we've had multiple guests talk about. The first one that made the most sense was kind of like this entrepreneurial and business advice from literally. Most people would call the greatest entrepreneurs on the planet. Woop founder, Will Ahmed. I'm actually wearing my woop right now. Fitness tracker. Really more than that, sleet tracking, fitness tracking. It does a ton of shit. It tells me how bad I slept the night before or how good I slept the night before. That's not going to seem to look pretty good. Seven and a half hours. That's a lot for me. Yeah. He's like a six hour guy. Will Ahmed came on talking about growing woop. These are tactical business advice that people can take. We've pulled. We've extracted. If you're lazy, like me sometimes, you don't want to listen to 40 minutes to get some of the nuggets. We've pulled the nuggets out specific to business and arbitrarism. We had Arby Botto from Stays 32. Arby's awesome talking about how to grow a business that needs to ease in specifically and how to really break through. We had Mark Randolph. You may have heard of Netflix. Maybe you heard of Netflix. The founder, one of the co-founders of Netflix, really actionable advice. Alex Morton, who's huge in the network marketing space and just a great guy, a really great Brad Lee, host of dropping bombs and the CEO of light speed. Everybody knows Brad. Brad's awesome. Great advice. We really just aggregated some of the best of. I think you're really going to like this episode. If you didn't already listen, you need to drop down Tuesday. Just a million dollar advice episode. There you go. So I give that a shout out for free. Talking about action. We're trying to make it action oriented. What you can do. How you can grow. How you can learn in next week exploding your Instagram in 2023. We had a growth hacker, one of the biggest growth hackers in the US. Look, you call yourself the growth guide and are they people call them? People made the name. Julian Walter. Really insightful on growing. I would say more like white, white, white tactics. White. This isn't black, black hack tax like stuff that's going to get you banned. It's more stuff that you can do. This actionable to really grow and explode your Instagram and how to take advantage of the algorithm in 2023. Julian was really insightful. This is like a powerful. We pack this in. I'm like 15 minutes. So we cut it down. We wanted to get you the best advice all in one episode. So like 15 tight minutes about exploding your Instagram in 2023. So who isn't trying to grow on social media? So check that out next Tuesday. Speaking of exploding, I think we know we want to get this company exploded because they do provide the best third party. Lab tested CBD in the country. VK. Yeah. Still wearing my hand. I haven't taken this hat off. I'm a bit sleeping with it. Like. That's what your little whoop tells you. Yeah. So like since I've been sleeping with this. Heaps you from tossing it tight because the fill. Exactly. I haven't staying up right. But in all seriousness, VK, official CBD sponsor of the Radcast take a VK dot com. All right. So here's a deal. I just said I got seven hour. I usually get about six six and a half hours of sleep at seven and a half last night and you know what I took VK sleep gummies premium CBD and CBN. Those are two of the active gradients. Third party lab tested and Ryan offered tested and proved because I had last night and I slept longer than I normally sleep. I stayed sleep longer. I looked at my thing and literally looking at the data that I stayed asleep longer in patterns. So it's not coincidental folks. It's great quality stuff. We're trying it. We're using it. We're not just talking about it. And comes to a really reputable company. Chris Hansen, the founder, good friend and a good partner of the show trusted approved. How to know what he does. Yes, cares about people. So take a VK dot com. Go check them out. CBD, the sleep stuff. I'm telling you, you need to get it. Sleep gummies, gummies, different products, everything, anxiety. Yeah, all right there. And all lab tested in different strengths. So you know what you're getting. You don't have to question it. You don't have to worry that this is some shady thing. This is like drinking a couple glasses of wine and taking a break at night, but feeling a little better about yourself because you're not using natural ingredients and no hangover. No hangover. Exactly. Give them a shout out VK, the official CBD sponsor of the Radcast. I guess the social media holidays. I'd like to wish you a very happy cheese lover's day. Oh, from one cheese lover to another, I'd assume at the amount of cheese. I am. I can live on a chartreachery boards that have like cheese crackers and some meats. Yep, cheese and meat. A couple olives in there. I always do good on the keto diet because you know, I can cheese my meat. There you go. Cheese your way. Yes. Cheese your way then. Yes. So good. That's today. And then today is also get to know your customers day every third Friday of January, hashtag get to know your customers day. Yes, get to know them. Yeah. And then to know your customers. Hey, if you don't know them. Hey, this is the year. Let me tell you this. All right. We'll side venture here. It's important. Okay. They say there's going to be recession. I think it's going to be mild. I do think we'll have some of it. So look, the best growth in a recession is keeping your existing customers. You know, it's all about grow, go, go, go, go. The best business advice you can have is strategies and relationships with your current customers because when you take care of your current customers, they refer more people. They buy what's you buy more. They take care of you. You take care of them. It's symbiotic. And so you should be you want a strategy for recession proof. It's called take care of your customers, acknowledge them, make them feel better. And it will all ladder up. It's one thing when we're in this growth mode where it's tons of money in the market, everybody's buying stuff. It was an inflated false market last couple of years. It's not reality. But what is reality is when you take care of your customers, they take care of you. And if that's if you want to grow strategy in the recession, there it is. So Friday, get to today. Get to know your customers. Start because on those relationships. Start today and every day. And tomorrow Saturday is National Hugging Day. You know, I expect a big hug when I see you on Saturday night, Christina. Perfect. Right before your show. I'm like, I'm gonna, you know, go. What do they say? Break a leg? Yes. Break a leg. You're not going to get lucky. I'll go out there before you go on. I'll announce everybody. Like today is National Hugging Day. I'll pick off my set. Nick, you can even give me a hug on Saturday if I see you. Bless. There we go. Then Sunday, we have the Chinese New Year. So if you're screwing up your resolutions, kick it off with Chinese New Year. Yeah. On Sunday, the beginning of this year didn't go so well. So I'm going to just start to do it. What is this year? This Chinese year? Yeah. Last year was the year of the tiger. Where? What is it? You got to know what it is. We're doing it. Rabbit. The rabbit. It was a fall private trail. Uh-huh. You're a social out. Nice. Nice time. I love to see it. I knew it. I knew it was going to happen. And then it's National Pie Day. I'm going to throw a thawing pie right in your face. Please don't do that. I don't know. Sorry. That's what it would be Monday. So I could do it first. I might get work. Yes. You okay? Cake or pie? Cake. I'm a cake person. Yeah. I do love some pie. Like I don't discriminate against desserts. No, I'm not. The coal makes a lemon pie that's super good for the graham cracker crust. There you go. Uh, that. I'll sign that up for them all. Then every day, you know, um, but other than that, you do some cake. I heard same, same. But January 23rd National Pie Day. By day. Yeah. January 24th National Complement Day. Nice sweet. And that lovely pop that in black. Uh, I can't wait to compliment you on the 24th. Thank you. I look forward to it. We count down the days, man. Counting down the day. Only four is your day the way. And that's all we got for our, uh, social media holidays as we folks on us some social media news. This is my favorite part of the show. Google's clock app now lets you record your own alarm sound. They've updated the clock app for androids to allow users to record a voice clip and set that as an alarm tone. I love that. Yeah. I mean, yeah. I don't know where this is going to go as a thing. Yes. So you can, uh, yeah, if you, if you get hacked into someone's alarm, right, right, wake up or whatever motivates you if being yelled at in the morning motivates you. Yeah. If yourself yelling at yourself, Nick, I'm going to record like a special and just for you. Like, thank you. But it's not going to be all right. It's going to be an all for time. So it'll be like 30 minutes after it's supposed to be some few. It's new. Your flagger. But no snooze. I wonder how long it'll take before Apple gets on board with this. Oh, there's this option. I don't know. We're speaking of Apple. So not to eat in the Google's news, but I did see this. It just came out today. Apple has notched a new home pod with breakthrough sound and intelligence. Oh, love an Apple home pod. You know, and I guess I do. Here's what I'll say. They have not quite caught up with Alexa on, you know, and as far as the questions and stuff, like, uh, Alexa's like the last Clayton, my oldest. We have like this routine when he goes to bed. Nice 13. And so, you know, we've gone away from me singing songs to him. Dash, I still sing to every night. He's six. Um, he will not go to bed unless I sing to him. So, but Clayton had long wanted to restate. And so, uh, so Clayton though, we ask Alexa because he has his little warm pockets of Alexa. And uh, we ask Alexa to tell us a couple of jokes. Yeah. She tells us some jokes. She won't tell dirty jokes. So, you know, that's good. These 13. We don't need a cloud as much. No, not yet. But, and then she also sings songs. Very random. You need to ask Alexa to sing her sing you a song. Sometimes she wraps. She does like, like, country yodels. Like, it's pretty good. Oh my god. She sings way better than I do. I don't know what to do that. So, uh, anyway, I love these smart functionalities and but Apple has it caught up. Even it sounds like maybe they're trying to with this new sound, but they need to get serious smartest Alexa. Because Alexa's kind of kicking series ass a little bit. Just a little bit. Siri. Siri does. I'd like to see that the battle. Hey, die. You know, that's kind of funny. There's there's a TikTok in there somewhere like Alexa versus Siri. Yes. Like the like the woman of wrestling like the wrestling like digital wrestling between Siri and Alexa. That's really funny. I'm going to workshop that. You got some some TikTok. There's some material. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Listen. I'm working on it. Yeah. This is the year that I've become an influencer. TikTok launches a talent manager portal. So managers can negotiate brand deals for clients. This is great. TikTok has updated its creator marketplace to now invite talent managers to oversee, execute and analyze the brand opportunities and campaigns being presented to their clients. It's just kind of streamlined. This is super smart. Yeah. Uh, most influencers, the larger ones especially are brand like have these kind of things. And let me just tell you, I'm verified on TikTok and it's a fucking mess on there. Yeah. And it's as far as keeping up with stuff like I had like personally, like 12 or 13 companies had reached out to me for like these things. It's so convoluted how it's kind of in the app and like in mixed with messages. Feel sketchy. I miss it. Like I do not get back to I had this rant, you know, when we talked about Instagram versus TikTok, like I get the popular, I get on TikTok and I get sucked into the vortex. But the messaging and growth and taking it man, it is just wonky. Well, like the notifications section is so confusing. I mean, like it doesn't make any sense. No. And so this hopefully allows someone that's managing you to kind of get the notifications and a clean aspect. So you take advantage of them and manage it. And, you know, some of you have agencies and partners and coaches and things that do these things for you. So makes a lot of sense. It's smart for them as long as they make the messaging and the communication easy for the talent manager makes a lot of sense. Good stuff. And on to our marketing news. Laurel, the cosmetic company hands over the creative reins to influencers over 40. Instagram can often feel like a carefully curated carousel of stylish, staged candidates. Travel Reels set to high octane music and memes. Millennials or Gen Zers, which account for two thirds of the apps, one to two billion users are usually the culprits with influencers spend set to reach. Wait for it. 32.5 billion dollars. And the majority of these budgets still going to Instagram brands are capitalizing on older influencers. Hey, it makes a lot of sense. Yeah. newest version of spokesperson marketing and look. Laurel is an older brand. A lot of older women use the products. Yeah. Even man, I still like to use some loyal face lotion. Yeah. That's pretty good. And, uh, so look, have the show your demographic using the product. And influencers are all ages now. Yeah. Like it's not, it's not a 21 year old game for like it's micro influencers are huge, you know, and so it's super smart. Or in Laurel is owned by land come. Yep. Fun fact. Yeah. So that's why their product tends to be a little bit better because it is owned by a luxury brand. Very. The more you know, interesting. So look, folks, if you're a business and you're selling products, especially the, I mean, B2C and B2B can work. It absolutely works with influencers. But B2C, it's a no-brainer. You need to leverage these account. That's where attention is. Yeah. People are listening to my, I mean, we got to start this video program, by the way. We need to start it. Like I said, if you got lost, like, like on football or you got influenced. Yeah. Like it's literally, I say to my, I walk in, there's a pack is there. And it's like, okay, she hopes it. And it's like the most around you got it. Right. Right. They got Stanley on those like Stanley Cubs or something. Yeah. God. Oh, yes. So it works and smart by Laurel. And we're going back to our canned cocktails. Yeah. Who's free? Moftails. Back at it. Moulson Chorus debuts its first canned mocktail for moderation-minded drinkers. Moulson Chorus created Roxy, a line of alcohol-free cocktails in response to consumer demand for booze-free drinks. That's what we already said. Another brand. The drinks are made with the, I was the original mixologist. I'm telling you. So you're the experienced seller behind this. That's, well, I'm asking. It's too, I like so fast with that thing too. I would, but I'd never remember, and you know what? Every recipe was unique because I couldn't remember which ones I'd dance. Oh, another ratio. It was to numb a second. So it was really, you know, a custom mocktail. Memory. But, okay. It's obviously you should. But you know what's funny when I listen to booze-free drinks. Isn't that just everything else? Right. Right. That's not booze. Isn't it what is not booze? Cran apple. Cran apple. It is free. That's a mocktail, right? Booze-free. What defines the East thing? Like, I'm just going to go mix like, you know, some random shit at the gas station. Like, the original. I'm going to walk in with my diet coke. Look at that. Booze-free. Station mocktails. There's just more. Yeah. Yeah. We go. So you're telling the, and you can also get to the drink machine at the mocktails. A little pump of gasoline in there. Yeah. Obviously, of course, doing it, talking about it. Yeah. So, hey, a lot of money in beverages. Yeah. I spend a lot. I spend insane amount of, between my kids and me. The amount of money I spend, it convenience stores throughout the week on mocktails. Yeah. If you will. And energy tails. Yeah. Is a lot. Same. I'm a sparkling water girl. This next one is very fun. Willie Nelson joins the Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart in Hawking Multipurpose Big Lighters. Because at a country music icon, Willie Nelson to their talent lineup, which already includes Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart, the purpose of this is to drive home the point that their lighters are good for more than just fireplaces and fondue pots. They're also good for weed. Go figure. Right. Okay. It's very fun. It's, just think about this. These names. Willie Nelson. Snoop Dogg. Martha Stewart. Right. Just think about the polarity of those three people. Yeah. Yeah. Like how opposite in theory, they all are. But they're all united by their love for weed. Lighters. Take this Martha. Martha come out and said she smokes weed. Or she just act like she's into it. Just act. It's just a really good market. Well, and I think that the double is like, you know, Martha Stewart uses the lighters for candles and for home things. And then Snoop Dogg uses it for weed and no. Come out with a line of edibles. I mean, there's a recipe book. Yeah. Oh my God. I mean, how good would that sell? Martha. I would the Martha freaking, you know, we got an echo for the title and I know. Martha. Martha Megs. Yeah. We'll think of that one. But there's a series that come out with that or even if she doesn't do it. Right. She should start making recipes because she obviously is not afraid to hawk it for a dollar. So. Right. That would be a billion dollar money maker for her. Yeah. Agreed. If she really liked, just obviously an amazing cook and recipe like brilliant. So she actually really started like making stuff and experimenting and then creating a series around her experimenting and creating the book. With Snoop Dogg. Get out. Yeah. A special guest that come on to taste test. There you go. The stuff. But I'm creating ideas or Martha. Call me. Let's do this. Let us know. Yes. Violate today. Fischel.
