What's up guys welcome to the latest edition of the Radcast here is the Radcast news Friday, July 29th,
 2022
Christianity. What's up? Not much. Can't believe it's almost August. Almost August. I like that so it gets name of a song.
Or a band. Yeah, almost August. There you go. Yes.
Copyright trademark. Almost August and definitely hot. Yes. Toasty. Toasty here in South
Kakalaki. Follow me. Yeah, but yeah, summer's kind of flying by here. Yeah, I want to slow down.
Same. I don't even go back to school. Like my life doesn't really change in the fall. I know. I'm like,
I like, I like the summer kids aren't at school or not. Everything's a timeline. I always kind of
had a timeline driven anyway. So it's like, I like a little late back summer, you know, totally,
you know, not, not big views. Hot girl summer, laid back summer in the awkward family. There you go.
You know, you know what I'm about. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Was it a single girl summer or hot girl summer?
Hot girl summer. Yeah. And then sad girl autumn. Yeah. Yeah. That's when I drive. That's my brand.
Yes. Yes. Yes. It's, uh, and it's kind of like sort of slow, but not slow. Yeah. Things are
happening, but it's fun. It's happening. Yeah. But it's like, I don't know, something happened.
Less pressure. Fall on the winter. And it's like, I don't know. Everybody gets back on the grind.
Yeah. On the grind. I like working hard, but playing hard. There you go. It's called balance.
Yes. As we talked about before the show. Yes. I hope everyone's doing well, wherever,
whenever, however, you might be listening or watching. It's, uh, it's been a good week. Yeah.
We're, uh, we're rocking and rolling, doing big things here, radical. And so a big
fucking mattress to get delivered. Yes. Finally, shooting a commercial here for, uh, a company.
You might have heard of the sheets and giggles. Good, good friends of ours and a good partner.
We're shooting now. Great product. A new mattress line coming out. They're, uh, sustainable,
which is good. And, uh, just in the mattress, the mattress is kind of go to, to, you know,
clog up my controls. Yeah. Yeah. So, uh, and, you know, I might get a new mattress at all. But
so there you go. The, uh, works, not hard. Yeah. And we got, uh, all kinds of stuff going on.
It's been, uh, lots of shoots. And my kids in, uh, in our, uh, shoots with shoes with shoes.
Yeah. Start them young. Yes. We were all over the place. Even Nick, Nick was out there directing,
shooting, telling my kids what to do, smacking them around. I can't believe you smacked my
kidney. Kidding. Kidding. I might have. I'll joke. They were actually pretty well-behaved.
I mean, they have a future. I'm making a future modeling career. Yeah. Maybe. There you
know. There's a lot of money in the, the foot modeling industry. Zero diversity.
Blond hair, blue eyed kids. It's like, man, they are what they are. You know, but if you need
some blonde hair, blood kids, give me a call. Miner of for auction. It's like for now, man,
I've got four, you know, we get settled for some times having fewer.
Joking. They're all good kids. I see lots of birthdays at the Alfred family.
Oh, Hus. Hudson turned 11 two weeks ago and Clayton this week turned 13. I have a teenager now.
Oh my gosh. I am old. So boring. Yeah. So I, and we're having a party later today. And I
said a bottom thing. He's the hardest kid to buy. Yeah. I'm like, I'm going to go out
like money. Yeah. What do you buy? 13 year old boy? Any suggestions? Does he like clothes?
Not really. Okay. He does, but doesn't like he's not yet gotten to where he cares about that yet.
Money. I want to go. I'm wearing my, my Air Jordan ones today. I'd love for the, you know, like
my pocketbook would, or my wallet would, or my pocketbook. I do love pocketbooks.
Essentials. Doesn't want them to like nice shoes, but I kind of want them too. I'm like,
hey, get some cool shoes. Right. Most Hogan loves them. Hudson's kind of like, Hus,
Hudson got some Yeezy's. Oh, you're just strutting in the Alfred house.
Took a second mortgage out on the house. I get some Yeezy's. There you go. I'm kidding.
The, uh, they were borrowing for shoes. Um, the, uh, but Clayton's like, eh, does he like
tech? Yeah. Gadgety things. And, you know, his mom got him some air pods. Okay. That was going
to my suggestion. So that was like, that was in the back of my head. She's like, I got his
mirror. I'm all right. Damn it. Get him an apple watch. Yeah. Do you look at mine?
I didn't think about getting him a nice watch. Yeah. There you go. I don't know. That's a nice
like 13-year-old gift, though. But that's kind of, it's like, oh, you know, I mean, am I going to get,
I mean, I'd want to get him like a bright lingers. Yeah. Those are like three grand. Yeah. You know,
like, sure. I don't know. I'm not going to get him a cast. We have two dollars. Uh,
I'm going to cast you to expensive for my kids stuff. You know, it's like, and not everything. I
am a, you know, cheap t-shirt jeans guy, you know, this easily, but watch his watches and, I don't know,
watch him off. Oh God. Same. Yes. Expensive taste. But, uh, I don't know. So, um, you could send me in
your recommendations, but it would be too late because I've, uh, I've already gone. When in doubt,
cash. Yes. Um, so, you know, the news this week's been about, uh, potential recession. And we're
here to talk about positive news. But I did want to mention something that was interesting.
Coca-Cola, though, one of the biggest brands in the world has, has increased marketing,
marketing spend the last quarter, um, to create brand value, even amid, they've been raising prices,
they've had to that, everybody else. And there's been this presuming recession. And they had one of
the best quarters of ever had 12% up. And I say this to remind people that people are going to want
to kind of pull back, but it's actually sometimes when you do the opposite, you have the opposite
effect. And I'm not saying you're responsible. And I know Coca-Cola's, you know, it's like one of
the biggest brands in the world, but he caught my attention because of how bold and confident they
were to spend and overspend on branding and marketing, even amidst all these fears and price hikes,
and all their stocks up, everything's up for the quarter.
It's incredible. So just keep it in mind. Yes, you can't use Coca-Cola as a proxy for everything,
but I would just keep it in mind that when others zig, use ag, and when everyone pulls back,
that means advertising probably going to be a little less expensive, marketing's be less expensive,
and you can stand out more because everyone's else is running less. And so keep it in mind.
Great tip. We've got some radcast news. We do. We had a little re-release this week.
I looked at the downloads on that. We are outpacing the original release like 401.
Look at you look at that. Yes. Great episode. Bruce Buffer. Yeah, we did hit a record 7,500
downloads yesterday in one day. That's exciting. Thank you all. Yes. So thank you, everyone listening.
Wherever you are, South Korea seems to be really picking up. I don't know how, but we love
the South Korea. We appreciate it. Yes. We're maintaining our top 100 Apple position in the US,
which is great, but it's just interesting looking at some of the countries where things pop up.
And so we love you wherever you are. That algorithm. But yes, Bruce Buffer, his episode was really
relevant. Super bright guy. Obviously, Uber successful. And I've been looking for his,
it's time energy drinks. I'm drinking my Alonnie new, who doesn't seem to want to call us back.
No. I'm just going to keep promoting you for free. It's time, brand of energy drinks is out
along with other stuff. But Bruce was super insightful and re-releasing a lot of his highlight clips.
I'm like Watson back one. Okay. This is what's pretty pretty good. I get reminded. You know,
we've done almost 300 episodes now. Right. You know, they're all my babies. But like, I get
go watching. That was pretty good. That's my favorite one. That was great. That's the one that
gets the Brightling watch. Yes. And for all of you days of our lives, Star Wars, Lovers, Christopher
Sean joined us a few weeks ago. His episode will be releasing next week. Christopher was awesome.
Cool guy. And super, super like down to earth. Yeah. And we talked hardcore. So look,
just get over it. We did have about a five or seven minute bit talking about days for all
lives and soap operas. But it's really like the reality of how it's produced. I just find it
fascinating. Like, you know, like how much of a different animal soap opera. Right. With that kind
of cereal mindset. Yes. How fast it moves, at least in the production. The storylines do not
move fast. But everything else does. Right. Yes. And then yesterday, we recorded Ashley, Parker,
Angel, and if you owe town fans. There you go. Over long episode. Yes. That's like for a long time.
We did. And you know, his one of his business managers and co-founders, it was came on the show
with him. Bobby. And I'm going to miss his name. But you'll see him in the show notes. But Bobby
Clevon off. Clevon off. There you go. Very good. Very good. I found there. Yes. But we could
have talked for like two hours. It was just like went on and on and on. Ashley was great. Talked
to buy his hotel days, talked about leveraging all of that attention into new platforms, talked
about failures that they had tried, which I did. Like, how about cereal opening up the cereal
with Scott? Like literally, I was like, I love me some cereal. Right. Same. You know, then they
looked at like rents for like L.A. and New York. They're like, uh, yeah, it's unreal. It's so a lot
of cereal. I mean, I'm like not a lot of very expensive cereal. Yeah. You need more of like a popup
for that. Right. There you go. Pop up store. There you go. And I would like, you know, like when you go
in those buffets and it's got this drop down, like you push the bowl up against it. Yeah.
You see the big ring. It's like a continental breakfast. I don't worry about COVID or anything,
but just 30 germs. Right. Right now. So, uh, Ashley Parker Angel coming soon. Coming soon. And we
got several big guests lined up. I'm actually reaching out. If anyone working on Kurt, Kurt
Street from ESPN and working the angles there. Kurt, if you're listening, checking us out,
seeing if you belong, you belong. You too can be on the red cast. He had you many hit up my boy.
I got quite a few ESPN connections. So, uh, we'll see what happens. The uh, speaking of
connections, my, uh, my good friends at Brandon Bills got my new white hat on. Yeah. There you go.
Rocketing this, rough. This is like felt more appropriate. The white, you know, absorbing all
the sun. Right. Right. Little cooler. Yes. Brandon Bills. Brandon Bills dot com. The official
merchandise sponsor of the rad cast. Got a performance hat. Yes. You know, I didn't even know what
moisture wicking. Yes. Sweatband. Lightweight. Great for summer. Certainly lightweight. Yeah.

sent you go to Brandon Bills. Brandon Bills dot com. Got a few social holidays today. Happy talking
on elevator day. Yes. It's a long container. It's your bad. We don't have an elevator. I do
my apartment. Yeah. Talk to myself in it. But it's fine. Yeah. Do you talk to yourself in the
elevator sometimes in your mind or out loud? Oh, I've been out loud before. I never answered
that. So it's fine. A lot of times it's like, I don't want to do this when I'm going to the gym,
but it's fine. Yeah. And then tomorrow. I hope this fucking elevator didn't break.
Also that. Yeah. And mine's broken several times, but it's fine. Never with me in it.
Tomorrow, international day of friendship. What a good day. Just say hello to my little friends.
Celebrate those friends. You know what I'm about Nick. Oh, Godfather. Absolutely.
International day of friendship. Oh, you know, hug a friend day. We'll call you know. There you go.
You can hug someone on Instagram. There you go. And the 31st is one of my favorite days.
National Mutt Day. I love a little little Mutt. Good Mutt. Not a pure break. It's a Mutt.
Rescues. Old Mutt. And it's also national avocado day. I like avocados. I don't know.
Only time I've gotten food poisoning is from an avocado. Read my lips. No.
Exactly. Yes. Look at avocados. Nick. Yeah. I love them. Oh, see.
Avocado toast. When you get sick on them, they'll do it. The pair I've done. We'd have with avocado
on it. Like, when I can't beat that. Can't beat that.
And I need to get that back. Toasted, right? You know, we're giving all the pre-promos. I know.
I know. I know. I'm like stop mentioning the names. It's just a taste. Right. Once you get, you know.
You're a little sample of the sugar. You know, you're going to come back.
We're wingwing nudge. Yeah. And then respect your parents day. Okay.
Bring it in the month. If my kids listen to this podcast, they need to really pay attention to this one.
Respect your parents day. August 1st. August 1st. There you have it. There's our
social celebrate accordingly. To eyes lie down on the social holidays. Yes, it is. Don't hold
it against us. At least that August will be good. Yeah. Tiktok news. Here we go. Here we go.
This is fascinating. I saw this everywhere. Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian tell Instagram to stop
trying to be TikTok. They've both posted. They have a combined following of 686 million people on
Instagram and they said they told Tiktok or Instagram to stop trying to be TikTok.
They both shared the link and they said that they're over Instagram Instagram again.
Yeah. I saw this. I mean, you know what? So here's the thing. I watched a video a couple weeks ago of,
I think it was a couple weeks ago. It might have been this week. Things are running together in
summertime blues or summertime fun, I should say. One of the programmers are marketing guys.
I don't know who was for Instagram. They talked about why it was moving towards video. I saw that.
And he said it's because there's more sharing, more engagement on the videos. So they're doing
more video. And I'm like, that might be true, but I don't know if it's chicken or the egg. Is it
more video because you're pushing more video and people are engaging with it because they're seeing
if you're a video or photos or is it truly because people want to set yourself apart.
You know, I don't want like four of the same apps. Yeah. And apparently me and Kylie and Kim also
feel that way. Yeah. And so I kind of miss some basic photos myself. Yeah. I don't see
meaning in the feed or just photos of people that I know as opposed to all like my Instagram is
all memes. Yeah. Which is fine. But I'm going to start posting photos again. Photos of photos.
Polaroids. Videos of your photos. Yeah. Like Hogwarts. There we go. How about a photo of a video?
Never mind. Photo section. Photo section. No, not that. Honda Civic tour expands beyond live shows
with TikTok videos from future X Honda's bring back its yearly summer concert series with a
new format to reach fans through live shows and content on TikTok. The hot the car makers Honda
Civic tour features the future X a group that American Idol creator Simon Fuller formed this year.
There you go. I mean, I do think of. I don't know. This generation of Honda Civics being kind of
like that. I had that genre. Yeah. It makes sense to me. Same. I can't say I've seen or heard
future X yet. No, I gave him a quick Google when I read this article. And they're fine. They'll
be successful. What kind of music? Like pop. Okay. Like boy band pop. It's a little
a little more techy than that. Not quite techno, but. Okay. Yeah. Change smokers. A little bit.
Okay. Yeah. All right. I like some chain smokers. There you go. Change smoking. Um,
you know, if I'm Honda and I'm pushing civics, I'm going to be on TikTok. Yeah.
100%. You know, I might be pushing anything, but 100% makes sense. It looks. I saw some,
there was like some souped up Honda Civic that was like 80 grand or something. I'm like,
who's buying an 80,000 dollar Honda Civic? Yeah. I'd rather buy a Beamer. Yeah. Hey.
Just saying. I don't know. What do you think of Honda Civics, Nick? I think they're good. Yeah.
Yeah. My sister had one growing up. See? Did she pay 80,000 dollars for hers?
Not quite that much. Yeah. I understand. I was so. 8,000 things right from Honda Civic.
I remember having like college or something. You know, I'd driven a cord in college. I had it
two for about five minutes. You reckon? I know. I went back. I had a Jeep. I got a Honda
and I went back to a Jeep. I got you. Yeah. So I did see this. Some small businesses are seeing
organic success on TikTok. No kidding. We've only been telling you. Yes. Um, this is an
interesting concept. So essentially they, uh, they're doing print on demand on t-shirt. Nice shirt
thanks as they account. So basically you can send them your design idea and they print it and
make it for you. Yeah. And which is cool. You send like a couple words and they come up with it.
Yeah. It's great. It's fun. They got more than 1.5 million views and almost 370,000 likes
on their video with the business idea. And they're making a lot of money. So they're going to plan
to sell at least 50,000 shirts by the end of the year. So they, uh, a business idea,
shared on TikTok business created and now executing and working straight. Total the organic
platform. Yeah. Organically. Incredible. Right off of TikTok. There you have it.
What else we got here? Well, let's see. We were entering the metaverse. Oh, boy. Oh,
oh, no, no. I was waiting on you. Oh, no. I get it right. There's trends in the metaverse.
Just when you thought we were done with it. Metaverse real estate sales to grow by 5 billion dollars
by 2026. That's an insane number. This expansion will be the B. First, the metaverse will
gradually move towards more mixed reality experience, which we've talked about a lot. And then
taking on annotations and decoding tags for different applications, specific purposes.
This is insane. And then the second reason is they're trying to push more cryptocurrencies
to cause passive income. Well, basically, you know, if you can't buy a house in the real world,
buy it in the metaverse, right? You can rent a house. The metaverse doesn't have a recession yet.
You know, your avatar will stay in my house. Right. You know, they're marketing the space.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Working remotely in the metaverse. Yes. But hey, I'm working
remote today in the metaverse. So I'm somewhere. So that's where we start getting requests. Hey,
guys. Sorry, I'm out of the office, but I'm in the metaverse. Okay. I'm at the grocery store.
Yes. But real estate by 5 billion dollars allegedly. Yeah. I don't know. It probably will,
but like these numbers are staggering. And I feel like there's been a little bit of a,
I told people to kind of, you know, slow their role and some of this stuff. Yeah. You know,
we kind of had fun with the whole trends in the metaverse. But it does feel like it's reached
a bit of a plateau. Yeah. Just in the short term here, if you realize that there's not much you can
do with it. Yeah. Like people who are like putting goggles on yet at home every day. Yeah.
You know, at least you aren't. I might be a bit. But you're only getting involved in the metaverse
constantly. This is actually just avatar. Oh, that makes sense. I can see that. I never come out.
Hey, oh, yeah. What are we coming out of the metaverse?
Hmm. All right. I'm gonna leave that in the middle of that. Chipotle is getting involved,
though. They have by the dip game, which will give away $200,000 in crypto. Chipotle makes
king grill is celebrating national avocado day. No, thank you. By launching a limited time stock
market simulation game by the dip that will give away $200,000 in various cryptocurrencies to
individual players. Nice. Yeah. All right. This is fun. Chipotle is just the best. I do like some
Chipotle food. Same. By the dip. Just no guac. Do you know that comes from like the stock market?
Oh, yeah. Well, by the dip, you know, that's what's happened right now. That's a by the dip. I like
dip in the dip. Like literally like it's pulled like K so K so's pretty damn good. It's the best.
Got it. So good. I'll buy both the dips. Their dip and the dip. And the crypto, you know,
it's kind of like a wait and see mode on all that stuff. You know, I mean, it's like losing 100%
overnight and it comes back a little. I'm like, all right. It's kind of dip right out of that.
Dip out. I'm saying that coming right out of it. I did like this. It's gonna be our final
article today. We got to keep it short people. Your is a summertime. You don't need to be listening
to this. You need to be on a beach somewhere and enjoy the soul cycle. It's a great one.
Exchange is use Pilaton bikes for in-person classes. It's so good. Brilliant. And it's so good.
It's so good. They can use the bikes in their studios. I think right. Right. Exactly.
So workout studios. Soul cycle is offering to exchange used Pilaton bikes for 47 free
institute classes as part of its new souls reunited program. There you go.
Heralding the slogan. Fuck riding solo. They use a hashtag. Right. Right. That would have gone on.
Soul cycle will collect used Pilaton bikes free of charge and recycle them. It's part of a larger
campaign. Fuck it. Let's ride to get people back in person, which pushes the return of
in-person workouts. This is brilliant. They can use them. I mean, anybody that double entendres so much
going on there. So much. I'm here for it. And you know, I am intrigued by getting a Pilaton,
but I won't look the treadmill, not the bike. Sure. I'm not a bike or I'll get on there and run and
do climbing and stuff. But fun. Enjoy it. Good stuff. Tight 25 minutes today. I hope everyone's
out there having a great rest of the summer. Summer's coming to close. Fashion that we like
people. Enjoy it though. Enjoy it. You know, to find us to radcast.com search for Pilaton. You'll
find all the highlight clips we've ever talked about Pilaton. And especially today. Fuck it. Let's ride.
Yeah. Fuck it. Let's ride. And go enjoy your friends tomorrow and have an avocado on Sunday.
There you go. Tell the radcast. Send you. We'll see you next time.
Christina Gassi, Ryan Offert. See you.
