A trained makeup artist turned beauty business maven, Tisha Thompson, is the Founder and CEO ofLYSTM Beauty with more than 15 years’ industry experience in clean beauty product development, brand management, marketing, finance and operations. Unapologetic in her pursuit to diversify the marketplace, Tisha built LYSTM as a landing-place for makeup and skincare solutions that are uniquely catered to various skin types, textures and tones, while addressing common skin concerns, like hyperpigmentation, dark spots and sensitive skin. With ingredients as her tool and confidence as the goal, Tisha is on a mission to dispel the myth that clean beauty, deep shade ranges and high-performance products cannot coexist.Following a listen and respond approach to innovation, Tisha has spent years intimately studying the beauty consumer to fill gaps in the market as it relates to performance, shade offerings, undertones and marketing representation. Truly becoming one with the lab, she relays these consumer concerns for a final result that gives you the immediate payoff you want with the lasting benefits your skin needs. Because when it comes to your skin, compromising shouldn’t be an option.Innately curious and hungry for change, Tisha dedicates her time traveling the world to discover best beauty practices, emerging trends and consumer-facing concerns to create products that break down barriers and build up confidence. She is known for celebrating the non-conforming views of beauty through globally recognized campaigns. Most notably, after her frustration on the lack of representation in beauty campaigns and shade assortments, she launched the 4-in-1 Love Your SelfieTM Longwear Foundation and Concealer duringher tenure at PUR. This product, which launched in 100 flattering shades, cemented her commitment to serving underrepresented communities through the vehicle of beauty. As a millennial mom of two, beauty enthusiast and undisputed go-getter, Tisha understands the industry’s need for clean products that are equal parts effective and inclusive. She dedicates her time traveling across the world to discover emerging trends, ingredients and practices and consumer-facing concerns, which are echoed throughout the company to produce a carefully curated collection of products that satisfy the needs of the global consumer. Whenshe’s not at the baseball field with her two son’s, you can find her testing products in the lab, conceptualizing beautiful packaging or brainstorming strategies to break down the barriers in the beauty industry.Tisha earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from Kennesaw State University. Jonina is a native of Iceland and Skaggs’ Art Director. Upon completing her studies in architecture, Jonina completed a Master’s in branding and design. After working at some of San Francisco’s most notable agencies, Jonina and Bradley established Skaggs Creative, moving it to New York City two years later. Understanding the specific requirements of effective branding for a diverse range of businesses, including high-tech, hospitality, fashion, beauty, and fragrance, has been the key to her success, and to Skaggs’ numerous awards. Jonina has shaped a design sensibility and an aesthetic that is simultaneously aspirational, beautiful, and effective. On all project elements, she considers both the macro and micro — firmly believing that perspective and proportion are essential to shape and content. A European sensibility and a concise American directness work together to further her vision. Jonina is also a passionate educator, teaching marketing and communications at the University of Iceland, and branding and packaging at the College of Arts and Crafts in Northern Iceland. After completing his B .A. in architecture, Bradley worked on several urban planning and architectural projects in Germany and Luxembourg and began to embrace two design axioms: “form follows function” and “less is more.” Then in 1998, he and Jonina created SKAGGS Creative, where he serves as Creative Director. The agency’s ability to offer a wide-ranging branding knowledge and experience has earned them numerous industry awards for excellence and design innovation.By digging into the essence of a brand, Bradley works to develop verbal and visual identities as well as insightful marketing and communication strategies. Additionally, he is a professional product photographer, employing his skills to further unify and focus a brand’s identity. Working on all aspects of a brand architecture has solidified Bradley’s core belief about memorable branding.--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support

Megan McIntyre is a beauty and wellness writer who got her start in the industry over 16 years ago when she stumbled into an editorial assistant job at WWD Beauty Biz after moving to NYC with no job prospects and $1000 in her bank account. What followed was a career in writing that took her from print to the heyday of digital, when she moved over to Daily Makeover as a senior editor, followed by a cold call to one of the co-founders of Refinery29 that led to her being hired as the head of the fledgling beauty department for the site. After five successful years, she headed out on her own to become a freelance beauty writer, crafting reported features for publications like Byrdie, The Zoe Report, Coveteur, Glamour, Marie Claire, Gossamer, and Fashionista. She also works behind the scenes with many beauty brands as a copywriter and consultant to help them craft engaging marketing communications for consumers. Past clients have included Kiehl's, Ulta, Aveda, Pantene, Nexxus, and many more. After 15 years living in Brooklyn, Megan decided she liked the proximity to skiing better than proximity to bagels (for shame!) and packed up her husband, 13-year-old Schnoodle Ellie, and borderline hoarder levels of face serums to head to Denver, Colorado last March. She loves the mountains and easy access to cannabis edibles, but TBH really misses decent bagels. Paula Floyd, Founder and CEO of Headkount

One hundred percent of the top 20 prestige beauty brands invest in a field sales team. Yet with the recent influx of indie brands, how can startups, even those that are on a hot streak and poised for greatness, afford the massive overhead associated with that oh-so-necessary team? Enter Headkount, the brainchild of Paula Floyd, a sales and education executive with over 25 years of experience at brands such as MAC, Benefit, Urban Decay, and more. Though there’s been a current emphasis on growth in the DTC channel for most brands, Paula saw the desire from consumers to still experience a brand in person and the need to elevate the brick-and-mortar relationships that brands have with their retail partners. There are only so many resources available for up-and-coming and legacy brands alike, and it can be challenging to support both DTC growth and in-store retail opportunities. Headkount offers an alternative option that allows brands to scale their businesses in retail by removing the overhead that comes with a full in-house field sales team. Headkount does all of the heavy lifting associated with driving retail, including a field education team, account management, operations, and an experienced head of sales. Most importantly, Headkount’s team of dedicated beauty educators creates and cements invaluable relationships with their customers and retail partners, and eliminates the need to continually scout, hire, and train new in-house staff for a position with a notoriously high turnover rate. All Headkount team members are referral-based and pass a rigorous application process to ensure that only the best of the best are on the floor representing Headkount’s clients, which currently include editorial and industry darlings Kosas, Lawless, Saint Jane Beauty, Merit, True Botanicals, and more. Headkount is a consumer-driven, cost-effective, and fast way to improve brand awareness, increase brick and mortar sales, and grow at scale, resulting in increased productivity and shipments, and significant new door growth.--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support

With over 35 years working as a skin and wellness expert in the UK with many celebrity and beauty director clients, Marie has developed a unique approach to the skin, treating skin health holistically as a tri-effect, looking at internal and external influences on the body that can impact the skin. Her consultations involve looking at the feet, ears, and internal frequencies to determine the root cause of their issues, using holistic-science based treatments including Energy Therapy to 'read' the body.Marie’s work focuses on helping to bring balance to the body to enable overall healing and repair. Many conditions are born from energetic imbalances, dis-ease starts with energetic disturbances, and relationships between pathogenic influences may exacerbate or even cause pain and further symptoms. Marie’s method aims to seek out these imbalances and counteract them both internally and externallythrough her treatment. She offers in person and distance therapies as well as her own skincare and supplements line (launched in 2018).Marie has a network of high profile fans including many A List celebrities and Beauty Directors including Alex Steinherr, Newby Hands etc. Marie can be found at Fortnum & Masons, Central London, and her own clinic in Norfolk.--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support

Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Margaret served as a diplomat in Budapest, and was chief of staff to the US Ambassador to Hungary. While in Budapest she met her husband and co-founder of Omorovicza, Stephen de Heinrich. It was while Margaret took a post in Brussels, as chief of staff to the US Ambassador to the European Union, and Stephen in London, that the idea of starting their own skincare brand came to fruition. Budapest is a city rich in spas and Stephen's family happened to own the beautiful Rácz, which dates back to the 16th century. Stephen and Margaret married in 2005. The following year they launched their company from a tiny office in a beautifully decaying courtyard in Budapest. Today, Omorovicza is sold in some of the world's finest stores - Liberty, Harrods, Neiman Marcus, Lane Crawford - and has a loyal band of fans. Margaret and Stephen run the company while also raising four children and juggling various charity projects (Margaret works with the World Economic Forum's Young Global Leader programme and is a founding member of the British Fashion Council's trust promoting young designers). Lorrie and Celeste knew they were onto something ‘important’ when their friends were constantly asking for skincare recommendations because their long-time moisturizers and regimens were not ‘doing’ it. Both Lorrie and Celeste believed that aging and menopause need to become de-stigmatized and become openly acknowledged as a time of growth, wisdom, and shared community strength. They also believed that aging is a complex issue for every human but for women in particular, as women are culturally trained from childhood to associate personal identity and success with their facial and body appearance. After meeting with scientists to truly understand how and why skin aging changes after 40 and again at the onset of actual menopause, they realized there was an opportunity to really educate and empower modern women by empowering their skin with science-backed, clean formulated, hormone responsive skincare solutions. They like to say that they put the “I” in Caire to symbolize each individual woman’s unique journey.--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support

Antonia Knox started her career at Aurelia Probiotic Skincare alongside founder Claire Vero in 2013. A vital part of building the Aurelia brand, Antonia has been on Aurelia’s journey from the very beginning. Having started working in Claire's kitchen on formulas and innovation, Antonia has since headed up training employees and retailers, before being appointed Brand Expert in 2019. Antonia's passion and knowledge for Aurelia are truly invaluable, making her the go-to spokesperson for all things Aurelia, be it skincare benefits, the power of probiotics, or a deeper look into the complex science and ingredients within the range.Antonia had a passion for beauty from a very young age and was mesmerized by watching her mother get ready at her dressing table. It was makeup and color that first captivated Antonia, and even at the age of 12, she would encourage her older sisters to sit for makeovers. This passion continued after school and university, where Antonia began work at Space NK in Islington, honing her skills as a makeup artist but also discovering the fascinating and varied world of skincare. It was while working on the shop floor that Antonia realized the power that good skincare can have on an individual and the training she received with a variety of brands fueled her interest in cosmetics.Having joined Aurelia’s team in the brand’s earliest stages, Antonia’s journey has been a successful one and she has grown with the brand as Claire’s protegee and confidante. Since Claire’s decision to step back from the day-to-day, Antonia has taken up the position of brand expert and spokesperson and continues to communicate the benefits of the brand she fell in love with in 2013.--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support

Growing up in beautiful Morocco, Hind’s love of beauty date back to her fascination with indulgent Hammam rituals. Starting a career that spanned over 20 years at L'Oréal and Procter and Gamble in various management roles, Hind led iconic brands such as Olay, as well as cult ones such as Redken to better connect with consumers and deliver market-leading success. Throughout her time in the beauty industry, Hind concluded that when it comes to skincare, there is no performance without consistency, and there is no consistency without joy in using the product. As she saw beauty become cold and soulless with functionality elevated at the expense of joy, she was inspired to create a warmer vision of beauty that puts sensoriality at the service of performance. This was the beginning of whind.Sebti developed whind under the Waldencast incubator in 2019 where she brought her unique perspective of spotting and investing in the most promising consumer-centric purpose-driven brands of tomorrow. With whind, she delivered a new form of a beauty brand, one that embraces the power of modern science to create extremely effective formulas that are imbued with sensorial ingredients from sun-kissed climes. whind embodies a new kind of beauty. One that is both effective and evocative. Its high-performing actives have the proven ability to transform, while its tantalizing textures and blissful scents magically transport those who walk barefoot in the sand and dance high-heeled under the stars, to lands blessed with warm golden light.Use our promo code ANARCHY10 to get 10% off your whind products at checkout!--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support

Skinfix is the first clean, clinically active skin care brand vetted by unbiased dermatologists. The Nova Scotia, Canada-based brand was founded in 2014 by Amy Gordinier after she discovered a powerful 19th-century heritage formula for treating eczema. Since then, Skinfix has expanded to address the most stubborn skin issues and heal, replenish and maintain the vital skin barrier. The skincare portfolio, which has won over 40 major beauty awards, currently features seven collections: Barrier+, Resurface+, Eczema+, Correct+, Redness Recovery+, Remedy+, and Inked+. A firm believer in the link between mental health and skin wellness, Gordinier feels a moral imperative to prove the effectiveness of the products by investing in clinical trials and publishing the results. Skinfix also shares the percentages of active ingredients on the packaging, so consumers know exactly what they are getting in each bottle. All of the products are cruelty-free and all of the formulas are vegan or beegan. Skinfix’s cartons are made from 100% recycled or reclaimed fiber, and almost all primary packaging components contain a high percentage of post-consumer recycled plastic.Skinfix is currently available throughout the United States and Canada exclusively at Sephora and directly through the Skinfix website. The brand further supports mental health by donating 1% of all sales to YourMomCares, an organization dedicated to providing mental wellness resources to children around the world.--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support

I’ve loved fashion, art and BE-YOUTY ever since I was young, and I knew right away that I wanted to combine these passions and pursue makeup artistry.I’ve nurtured my keen eye for detail training with well-known celebrity makeup artists including, Francois Nars, Uzo, Trish McEvoy, Peter Philips and Lucia Pica, and my love of makeup artistry has taken me all over the world. I’ve spent the last 16 years traversing the U.S., Canada and Europe, and traveling is another passion that I plan to pursue more. My goal is to connect with all types of creative individuals from all over the world as I build on my extensive portfolio. I also specialize in One on One consultations, Red Carpet Glam and the list can go on and on. Now I live in the Big Apple, NYC. I love helping people feel BE-YOUTIFUL and showcase their inner BE-YOUTY through makeup. I know there are a plethora of talented makeup artist out there. However, what makes me different is my attention to detail, my precise application techniques on how -to enhance features on the face & of course my expertise in finding the right look that is perfect for you. (everyone can do make up, but is it perfect?) Let’s connect! I can’t wait to work with you."If you were born without wings, do nothing to prevent them from growing.”-Gabrielle Chanel--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support
