In this episode, I am telling you my story of addiction, trauma and recovery. After a year of recording and many requests for this topic, I figured no better time than now -- especially when so many are going through their own challenges. This episode will give you insight into my past and why I have certain perspectives and attitudes; how I overcame both addiction and major traumas; provide hope for those struggling or with loved ones going through this; and continue to debunk the myth that anybody's life is perfect! I also take listener questions at the end.

In this episode I am breaking down all things BEAUTY procedures. There is so much misinformation, speculation and confusion over what have had done, what others have done and what the best treatments are for various aesthetic issues and goals. I break down everything I've had done in detail, discuss what was most and least worth it, talk cost, recovery, how it affects my confidence, and what my motivations were. I also answer a lot of questions that you asked me on instagram. My goal for this episode is to be open and transparent about a subject that is so taboo and that so many people lie about.

We all know I am NOT a doctor or medical professional and am not an authority on this; I am simply sharing my experience so please consult with someone reputable and credentialed if you want to discuss these things further.

In this episode I talk to Polly Rodriguez, CEO and cofounder of Unbound , about how a cancer diagnosis, subsequent menopause at age 21 and unpleasant experience at an adult store in St. Louis would later inspire her to start a sexual wellness company -- with detours working in healthcare reform and Wall Street along the way. We discuss the health benefits of orgasms of course, but we also delve into what it was like raising capital for something that is so stigmatized, the rampant gender bias and sexism in the industry (and in our government) and   what happened when she sent Mitch McConnell vibrators.

We all have brains and our brains are producing thoughts 24/7; that is their function. But we are prone to attaching ourselves to our thoughts, accepting them as truths and letting them dictate our lives. Oftentimes, our thoughts are rooted in fear, insecurity and self criticism. - How to live on purpose without careening through life with things just happening to us

- Not acting on thoughts that aren’t true

- Unf*cking social programming as women

- Mastering self critical thoughts

- Confidence

 - Not attaching to emotions

In this episode I talk to Britney Vest (@fittybritttty) about all things weight and wellness. We discuss her journey with her 85lb weight loss, starting with how she was affected by pressure to lose weight from a young age. She shares her experience of being in and out of Weight Watchers as a teen and her breaking point when she decided to make changes in her lifestyle. While her transformation is admirable, I was most interested in her qualities beyond her weight; namely her resiliency, confidence and zest for life. Today, she practices "wellness" without weight being the focus - and she has great advice for others looking to lead a more active, fulfilled life.
