In this episode I speak with Gary Vaynerchuk about my 3-year tenure as his personal trainer, coaching him 7-days/week for 3-years straight. Some of the questions I asked him were: - What was your very first impression of me? Both during the interview as well as once we began coaching. - What’s the workout which you cussed me out the most? - If you could only teach your children 3 things (fitness/health related), what would they be? - If you lost everything and could no longer afford a full-time personal trainer/nutrition coach , would you still stick with your fitness?   - If there’s one thing you wish I learned from my time with you, what would you want it to be? - What is your favorite and least favorite exercise? - How do you think AI will impact the fitness industry? - And much more... I hope you enjoy this episode and, if you do, please leave a review wherever you're listening (huge thank you to everyone who has written one so far). Finally, if you've been thinking about joining The Inner Circle but haven't yet... we have hundreds of home and bodyweight workouts for you and you can get them all here: https://www.sfinnercircle.com/

In this episode of The Jordan Syatt Mini-Podcast, I shoot the breeze and answer questions from the listeners with my podcast producer, Tony. We discuss beach body workouts, what it means to have a "good" exercise program, and the truth about greens powders and how they impact your health. I go over the concept of hyposatiability, why multivitamins or protein powders are a better bang for buck, and how the idea of "burning fat" when you workout is a fallacy. I talk about the Godfathers of evidence-based fitness and their tremendous influence on me. I also discuss a recent offer to turn my Real Life Youtube series into a reality show, what it's like to have a puppy, my experiments with AI and fitness, and the relative merits of shows like Love Is Blind and The Great British Bake-off. Urban warfare expert, John Spencer (@SpencerGuard on X), demystifies the Israel Gaza War. He's been on the ground both in Israel and in Gaza since the war began (and many times before), and has seen first-hand what both sides are doing and how they're trying to accomplish their goals.

In this conversation, John breaks down the myths and facts of the Israel Gaza war so you know the truth about what's going on.

John discusses:

- Israel's use of 2,000 pound bombs

- Hamas's use of human shields

- The total loss of life on both sides and Israel's response (is it proportionate?)

- The extent of Hamas's tunnel system (you won't believe this)

- Israel's state-of-the-art facial recognition system to identify enemy combatants

- And much, much more.

I hope you enjoy this episode,

And if you do, please leave a 5-star review because I know many will get angry at me for posting this and give me 1-star reviews lol.

How to Build a Great Home Gym On a Budget

65 min

In this episode of The Jordan Syatt Mini-Podcast, I have an in-depth conversation with my podcast producer, Tony, all about home gyms. I talk about my first pieces of home gym equipment,  my recommendations for those getting started building their own home gym, what my dream pieces of home gym equipment are, and how to build a great home gym on a budget.  I discuss the psychology of training at home vs in a commercial gym, my current home gym setup, and why I actually like the much maligned smith machine for strength training.  I also talk about ginormous spiders in Texas, Chuck Norris, and the dark underbelly of the puppy adoption industry.  Buying home gym equipment?  Check out my top picks on Amazon (these are affiliate links, so purchasing through them will help support the podcast at no additional cost to you.  If you end up buying with the links, thank you!). https://www.amazon.com/shop/jordansyatt/list/16XG3KWRCIZLT?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_aipsflist_aipsfjordansyatt_CHDXEJD6G21YBVGFKVJ1&language=en_US . Strength Training as You Age

60 min
View
In this episode of The Jordan Syatt Mini-Podcast, I have an in-depth conversation with my podcast producer, Tony, all about training as you age. I talk about how aging affects everything from fat loss, to strength, to muscle growth... but the core principles of training stay the same throughout your entire life. I go over why younger folks have an advantage at building strength and muscle, how women tend to approach training with more enthusiasm later in life, and how TRT is the same thing as steroids (sorry, not sorry) regardless of what people claim.  I also talk about why aesthetics for trained individuals are greatly affected by genetics, how steroids are linked to high blood pressure and other severe health risks, how protein pulsing may have some benefits for training as you age, and how it's never too late to start taking your health and fitness seriously and make huge improvements. If you have any questions you want us to discuss on the podcast, give Tony a follow and shoot him a DM on Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/tone_reverie/ . In this episode of The Jordan Syatt Mini-Podcast, I answer questions from the listeners with my podcast producer, Tony.  We discuss topics like whether or not BMI is a worthwhile metric, what "macro-friendly" even means, how to approach fat loss when fasting for Ramadan, and whether or not red meat causes cancer.  We also talk about food deserts, hunting, actively seeking out content that you disagree with, and a big announcement for my family. I spiked my blood sugar every day for a month - see what happened here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CAI0jXtJH4&t=572s . I tried the carnivore diet for two weeks - see what happened here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSXaIEaXwS0&t=7s . Do you have any questions you want us to discuss on the podcast? Give Tony a follow and shoot him a DM on Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/tone_reverie/ . Strength Standards for Men and Women

66 min
View
In this episode of The Jordan Syatt Mini-Podcast, I have an in-depth conversation with my trusty podcast producer, Tony, all about strength standards for men, women, and advanced athletes. While creating my own set of strength standards for advanced athletes, I also talk about relative vs absolute strength, why I don't use olympic lifts as a general standard, which lifts I do set standards for, and why I think strength standards need to be different for men and women. I also talk about why I don't think reaching these advanced strength standards actually matters in real life, the time I met Dan John, and why it's hard to keep making "Real Life" episodes for YouTube. If you haven't heard the Belt System for Strength episode listen to this first: - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-jordan-syatt-mini-podcast/id1348856817?i=1000635330417 . In this episode of The Jordan Syatt Mini-Podcast, I have a frank conversation with my trusty podcast producer, Tony, about mental health. I talk about why I started posting videos to Youtube in 2012, how my videos have changed over the years, why I don't rely on Youtube for income, how hard it is to grow a following on Youtube and more.  I also discuss the why it's difficult for full-time YouTubers to be their most authentic selves, how I view different social media and content platforms as diverse "properties" in a portfolio, why I mostly focus on "evergreen" content that never gets outdated, the emotional moment when I realized I was making as much as my single mother when I was growing up, and more.   Watch my very first YouTube Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kc4GecZiNDE . I explain what happened when I completely stopped lifting for 3 months straight as I traveled around Europe and The Middle East. 1 Year of Being a Father

In this episode of The Jordan Syatt Mini-Podcast, I have a conversation with my trusty podcast producer, Tony, about what it's been like being a father now that it's been a year since my daughter was born.  I talk about how difficult the first 5 weeks were, how I made working out during that period a priority, how my priorities have shifted dramatically since she was born, what my productivity has been like, how I am trying to be a good role model at home, and more.  I also discuss the "hope molecule" and why strength training is linked to reduced anxiety, why I want to prioritize long form content over social media, why the "iron" never lies, and more.  I spiked my blood sugar every day and still lost 12lbs - check out the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CAI0jXtJH4 .Check out my episode about growing up with ADD and Special Education: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-jordan-syatt-mini-podcast/id1348856817?i=1000615744034 .Check out my podcast with Mike Vacanti - How To Become A Personal Trainer: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/how-to-become-a-personal-trainer/id1490499334 .If you have any follow-up questions to this episode or other questions or episode ideas you'd like us to talk about on the podcast, shoot Tony a message on Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/tone_reverie/ . Mosab Hassan Youself, "The Son of Hamas," gives an unbelievable interview on The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict and exposes the truth about Hamas. Watch this whole interview from start to finish because Mosab explains in great detail how this conflict began, why it's happening, and what needs to be done for it to be resolved. A few of the questions Mosab answers are: - Can you explain what Hamas is, what it's goal is, and what it does for both the Palestinian people as well as Israel? - Does Hamas actually use it's citizens as human shields? If yes, can you explain what that practically means? Do they really conduct military operations from schools and hospitals and residential buildings? If yes, why? - Does Hamas have a "pay for slay" program, in which they pay Hamas terrorists for killing (or taking hostage) innocent Israelis? - Can you explain what those who have been brought up in the west fail to understand about the mindset and culture of those in Hamas? Why do so many in the west support it, and do you think they actually know/understand what they're supporting? - Is Israel illegally occupying Gaza and The West Bank? - Is Israel truly an apartheid state? - Is Israel trying to commit a genocide against Palestinians? - Does Israel have the right to exist? - What is the resolution to all of this? Is a two-state solution possible (or even desirable)? - What can us regular people do to improve the world and lead us toward peace? You can get your copy of Son of Hamas here: https://amzn.to/47ZslNw I hope you enjoy this episode. If you do, please subscribe to my podcast and turn on notifications. In this episode of The Jordan Syatt Mini-Podcast, I talk all about travel and fitness with my trusty podcast producer, Tony.  I talk about the entire spectrum of taking a day off for a dinner or a wedding to situations in which you are traveling for extended periods with little control over your schedule and everything in between.  I highlight how important it is to realize you aren't going to ruin your diet or fitness program over the course of your travel, but I also go over some tips and thoughts on how to keep the gears moving when you're on the road, including getting out for a walk, ways to think about food and eating out at restaurants, and exercises and implements that are easy to take along with you on your journey. I also talk about appreciating the good old days while they are happening. For some equipment you can use on the road check out Val Slides or TRX Trainers (This is not a sponsored post!) The Israeli Palestinian Conflict Explained

79 min
View
In this episode of the Jordan Syatt Mini-Podcast, I discuss The Israeli Palestinian Conflict, the horrific events of October 7th, 2023, their immediate aftermath, and the history leading us to this heartbreaking event.  Being Jewish myself, and having lived in Israel and having family there, I go to pains to be as objective as possible while still speaking from the heart.  My goal is to help people become more educated on what's been going on in the region and to hopefully open peoples' hearts and minds to the idea that the targeting and killing of innocent civilians is never justified, regardless of who they are, where they are from, or what they believe.  I know this is a controversial topic but I cannot go on with my regularly scheduled programming as all of this unfolds.  I hope you listen with open hearts, and I hope you learn something from it that is helpful to you.  I know that speaking on this topic will unleash a lot of anger and hatred and unfortunately, 1-star reviews, so if you find this episode at all helpful or want to support me and the podcast, please leave a review on iTunes to help keep us afloat (huge thank you to everyone who has written one so far).   Stay safe.  I love you all.   - Jordan

Strength Training for Kids and Teenagers

64 min
View
In this episode of The Jordan Syatt Mini-Podcast, I take a question from a listener about strength training for their teenage son and use it as a platform to discuss training for teens (and kids in general) with my podcast producer, Tony. I talk about when children can start strength training, how I used strength training as a teen to build confidence with my wrestling, how parents can set a positive example and support their teens in health and fitness, and why "fun" should be the focus at a young age.  I also talk about how unrealistic body image standards for men are often overlooked and dangerous, why winning at all costs isn't the answer, and when to intervene as a parent if there is a toxic coach or authority figure in their life.   I hope you enjoy this episode and, if you do, please leave a review on iTunes (huge thank you to everyone who has written one so far).  Finally, if you've been thinking about joining The Inner Circle but haven't yet... we have hundreds of home and bodyweight workouts for you and you can get them all here: www.sfinnercircle.com.

In this episode of The Jordan Syatt Mini-Podcast, I discuss the ins and outs of what to expect when starting your own business with my trusty podcast producer, Tony.  I talk about how important (and frequent) failure is to any successful endeavor, why I dislike the trend of everyone identifying as an entrepreneur, how I transitioned from personal training to making my income online via Syatt Fitness, and why attention is the most important asset you have.  I also discuss how I got into (and out of) the coffee business, the difference between starting a business at 18 and starting a business at 45, how I choose a business partner, why I keep my team small and close, and my latest business idea.  To hear my podcast about my time working with Gary Vaynerchuk click HERE Do you have a follow up question about starting a business?  If we get enough questions we will do a part 2!  DM Tony here with your questions: https://www.instagram.com/tone_reverie/  Please share the podcast with a friend and leave a 5 star review!  It would mean the world to me.
